How's the food? [Open]

Nathan smiled as the two sat down Aelita sat across from him, but over to the side Nathan had no idea that this was because of him he thought that she just liked that seat better. Maybe she wanted to make this there table and then they would all sit in the same seats everyday. Nathan nodded to himself happy with the seat he picked. It was the middle of the table, in the middle of the lunch room, and he had a great view of the buffet.

Nathan then went on to thinking about pudding. Oh sweet beautiful pudding. Grabbing his spoon he shoved it into the pudding he put on his plate, and then into his mouth. He danced around happily, and then smiled at Marshal. Marshal seemed nice, and he could turn into Nathan. Nathan liked to think that if someone filmed a movie and Marshal and Nathan were the actors it would be easy to film a scene where Nathan is at one point, and then at the other instantly.

" We would be a big hit." Nathan pointed at Marshal, but then went back to eating.

Today was a good day here at Ashford. New friends, pudding, and a chair stuck in the wall. Looking at the two as they were talking about whatever it is they are talking about Nathan started to think too, but about movies. Nathan pictured himself as the character in a lot of movies. The last one that he could remember though was him as Samuel l. Jackson in Snakes On a Plane.

"I am sick and tired of these mother frigging snakes on this mother frigging plane!"slams Hand on the table and then snaps out of it, and smiles.

"So what do you guys want to do after we eat?" Stuffs face.

Aelita had chosen her seat wisely, putting an extra seat between her and Nathan, while Marshal sat straight across from the ginger. He appeared overjoyed from their return, much like a puppy in a way, practically vibrating in such excitement. Marshal took a large forkful off of his plate. 'Well worth the second trip' he noted to himself. He found that Aelita kept an eye on Nathan, definitely out of fear. Judging by how concerned she appeared sitting at a table with the boy.

"Don't do much reading, not books anyway. And classes are just" he gave a shrug, "not what I expected." The general conversation was light surface conversation, not diving into anything deeper. No emotional connection besides the strange mix of fear and curiosity that came with meeting someone like Nathan. "I guess that's how it goes here at Ashford."

Marshal continued with his food, turning to Nathan, the ginger's face deep in concentration. Weather he was concentrated on his pudding or a thought was still uncertain. A smile widened on the ginger's face before he loudly roared words with no discernible meaning. Aelita and Marshal shared a confused glance.

"Yeah, from what I've heard, it doesn't sound like there's as much focus on coursework involving special abilities. I really expected that to be a big thing here, when I found out about Ashford." Aelita resumed stuffing large forkfuls of food into her mouth. The taste of it seemed dulled. She was distracted.

Marshal apparently wasn't the type to wax on forever and ever on small talk - and neither was she - so the conversation lulled some as she ate. Nathan, for his part, seemed to be doing his own thing -

"What do you want to do after we eat?" he suddenly asked the group.

Aelita swallowed her food, and took a long drink from her glass. "We? I, er, you know I don't really know my roommate. I was thinking I might go back and try to talk to her, maybe. Uhm, Marskal, what were you going to do?"

Her concerns made sense, though how would one teach another how to use powers.. Especially if the teacher has no experience with a power themselves. But in the end, the conversation proved dry and ill sustained. The silence that followed would have been awkward if not for the the entertainment that came with watching Nathan.


His thoughts obviously moved quickly. Easily passing from one disconnected distraction to the next. "So what do you guys want to do after we eat?" He spoke, this time, in perfect sync with the tone of the table. As if to say, 'what's next?'


Aelita seemed finished with her meal, as ready to move on as anyone here. They turned to Marshal for his answer. He looked to Aelita, then to Nathan, then to his own plate. It was almost finished, 'close enough.' He looked to Nathan again, remembering his promise, "you still up for hide and seek?" He gave a smile.

Nathan sat there his eyes open wide as Marshal remembered Nathan's suggestion of hide, and seek. Good thing Marshal remembered, because Nathan had completely forgotten. He clapped his hands, and smiled brightly. oh the joys of somebody actually willing to play. Nathan had been hyper all day, and now he is finally going to get to drain the energy within him. Though Marshal might be the one that gets drained before him. For some reason Nathan is like an energizer battery, or a kid on drugs, and candy at the same time.

Grabbing his tray and running over he placed it on the conveyor-belt that takes it to get washed. Skipping back over he pushed his chair in, and smiled bouncing up and down. " Come on come on!" Is all that he could think. Nathan felt like he was going to explode with excitement.

"Who is going to hide first me or you?" does a little dance.

Nathan had no idea where he was going to hide, but with how big this school is there was an endless amount of possibilities. The waterfall, he could use his powers, and hide in a crater he makes on the beach, and then fill it up. Nathan could cheat and hide in the prefect lounge. Ohh the excitement that was brought to him by just thinking about it. The energy was swelling in his heart, and he could barely stand it.

Nathan's excitement was obvious, you could tell by how quickly he picked himself up from the table. He rushed to clean his plate, faster than Marshal had ever seen anyone. Marshal took that as an immediate and overwhelming "yes!" and stood up from his own seat, putting his utensils on top of his plate, before Nathan came back. "Wish me luck," he said while tuning to Aelita, crossing his fingers, "maybe I'll see you around." He said hopefully, she was pleasant. Many are... less than pleasant.


Nathan came back begging the question on who would hide first. Marshal thought for a moment, then smiled to himself, "You can hide first. You got 'til I count from one-hundred to find a spot." He smiled "ONE-hundred, ninety-nine, ninety-eight." He picked up his tray, walking to the trash bin to scrape off the leftovers, continuing to count to himself, while walking to the conveyor belt. "Eighty-eight, eighty-seven..."
