There was a significant difference in the tone of the conversation as the tension eased from the air. The two boys hadn't come to any sort of an agreement over the instruments, but maybe that discussion was better left for another time. Marcus's smirk only intensified as Vik answered him and the punk was starting to think the guy wasn't so bad after all. Sure, Vik was kind of annoying, but the punk wasn't one who could not be swayed by flattery.
"Yeah, I work out a little," he cracked an eye open again and caught his roommate checking him out. The smirk deepened, drawing one corner of his mouth up with a smile in the spirit of Harvey Dent. "Sorry to disappoint, but I don't roll that way and you're not my type. Feel free to enjoy the view though, and remember: look with your eyes not with your hands." Marcus didn't seem bothered by his roommate's interest. A compliment was a compliment after all, but the punk grew serious a moment later.
Shrugging he said, "I'm more a runner than a gym guy, but my shrink recommended exercise to help with my anger issues. I guess it helps sometimes." He gave another passive shrug like it was no big deal. It wasn't like his struggles in anger management were much of a secret, and he hoped Vik would pick up on the subtle warning. It usually didn't take people long to realise that Marcus was the wrong guy to mess with, but Vik did not seem especially smart and the punk was feeling generous. “I’ve never understood the appeal of camping. Who wants to sit in a damp tent for days getting bit by mosquitoes?” he shook his head at the thought.
