Outside the sun glistened through breaks of clouds in a dotted sky while a cool breeze blown gently over the grounds. It was one of those days to do absolutely anything but stay indoors. Running, jogging, going down to the beach, napping in the sun, or just roaming around, this was the day to do it and it seemed that almost everyone was out enjoying such a beautiful day... Almost.
Short, light footsteps echoed through the school halls. It was Monday, where was everyone? All morning Rinka had been wandering around the halls, going from class to class, room to room, looking for any sign of life whatsoever. But no! Nothing! Nada! Zilch! It didn't seem like anyone was going to come to school today. There had been a slim amount of early birds seen like herself as she walked up to the school, but none of them were in here now. Going up to a window she noticed that it was almost noon and everyone was.. was... was outside! And the day, oh it looked like so much fun. To get closer Rinka smooshed her face against the glass. Ooooh, so close, yet so far away.
Why was everyone outside though and not in here learning? Maybe.. just maybe.. the whole school was having a big party outside and hadn't invited her because she was so new, in fact this was her first day. Or maybe they had just forgotten about her. Would she even be on the attendance sheet yet? Probably not, her files for the sudden transfer were probably still being mailed. At least her teachers should have been told they were getting a new student right? No, no, they wouldn't leave her here. They'd just... um.. yeah.
Making another run around the school still searching for someone, anyone, proved to be absolutely worthless. Either no one was here, someone else was just moving and she kept missing them, or she hadn't checked all the rooms yet. That last one was actually pretty likely since she didn't know her way around, but she kept thinking that no one was here. After awhile she got tired and found herself in a large room with a stage and a whole bunch of seats to rest in. Choosing one dead-center in the very first row Rinka sat down and tried to keep from thinking about how everyone was outside without her. That didn't go over very well and she ended up quietly sniffling to herself while wiping away the tears that threatened to overflow every few minutes. She couldn't go outside either, today was a school day, she had to follow the rules and stay in school.
It was a pity that she thought it was Monday when it was actually Sunday.
