It was an early Sunday morning, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. But all of this was lost on Will, who was fast asleep with his head buried in a large, and not very interesting medical book. Despite the fact that yesterday had been a Saturday, and he was supposed to relax, Will had stayed up all night doing research. Next to him was a stack of books, that were just as boring as the one currently serving as his pillow.
The subject of his excessive reading was, as it had been many times before, amnesia. This was a subject that Will found of utmost importance. The reason for Will’s interest in this was really quite simple. Will suffered from mass amnesia, he couldn’t remember a single thing from what he called his privies life. The only thing he knew was his name and that only because it had been told to him. Now while this was a problem for him, it normally didn’t keep him up at night, he was usually able to fall asleep without much of a problem. But lately it he had begun to have trouble sleeping, and when he finally fell asleep he had strange dreams that he could never quite remember.
These strange dreams, together with anther weird phenomenon that Will had been experiencing of late, where he would suddenly feel as if something from his past was pressing on the edge of his mind, unable to get in, had made Will duple his effort to try and find some way to rediscover his past. But unfortunately he had been unable to find a single method that could cure him. The closest he had gotten, was a piece of advice in a rather old book saying “If something is worth remembering, it will usually return on its own” Which wasn’t exactly what he had been looking for.
With a sudden twitch Will was pulled out of his sleep. It had been another night with strange dreams which he could already feel fading from his mind. At first he thought he was still dreaming, the room he was in was not his room after all. It was a very big, and very empty library. But he soon remembered where he was, and why he was there. “I have to pay more attention to the time” He said aloud to himself. He could feel the pain in his back that he had gotten from sleeping leaned over the table.
“Well maybe I will just keep sitting here a little while longer, maybe the pain will go away” again talking to himself. This was mostly laziness as he was well aware that the pain would fade faster if he got up and did something. But it was Sunday and he didn’t really have anything to do. He looked down into the book and saw the best advice for curing amnesia the book had to offer “If something is worth remembering, it will usually return on its own” he read aloud in a silly voice “Well I guess my life must have been really boring then hugh!”
