Carter hummed to herself as she explored the library for lack of a better term. Though she'd been at the school for months, she hadn't really gotten around to visiting the library yet. Between schoolwork, getting sidetracked, and training -she'd joined up with the Battlefront in her first week at Ashford- she hadn't really had the chance. Today though was her first truly free day and even though she wanted to go hang out with friends, namely Mako to make sure he didn't mess up his side even more she told herself, or just relax somewhere, she had been determined to go to the library.
A decision that was apparently a good one, seeing as she had about five or so books balanced on one hip and was still looking around to see if anything jumped out at her. The good thing about libraries: you didn't have to pay for your books! Back home she'd have to save up and then go to the bookstore. Why? Because she'd come out with at least four books at a time. Once she even ended up with ten. If there was one thing she loved about Ashford, it was the surprisingly well-stocked library. Don't get her wrong, she'd still get books from the mainland but at least she had something to tide her over between trips.
Sitting down at an empty table in the back she laid out her books; the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe, some Shakespeare, the Cthulhu Mythos by the always awesome H.P. Lovecraft, a thick book on weather patterns and storms, and the book she currently had her nose buried in: Jurassic Park. She already owned the complete works of Poe, Shakespeare and Lovecraft but couldn't take them with her when she left for Ashford. As for Jurassic Park an the weather book, the former was one of her favorites and the latter because her powers dealt exclusively with weather and storms and she loved learning more about them. It also helped that these books gave her ideas for her powers every now and again. Settling into her chair and propping her feet up on the table -away from any books- she ran a hand through her blue hair, getting comfortable to spend what would probably end up being the rest of the day reading.
