Name: Tobias Fordson
Nicknames: Ford, Tobi (He is very selective with just who can call him such)
Age: 16
Birthday: December 5th, 1997
Grade: (10th)
Power: Major Power #1 - Advanced Cellular Mitosis
This power grants Tobias an advanced form of normal human Mitosis. Whereas normal humans have a small amount of regenerative capabilities, Tobias is able to recover from certain wounds faster than others. This leads to battle wounds that would take weeks to recover healing a few days faster, as well as above average to perfect organ condition. While this power could theoretically regenerate body parts, it is unable to do so fast enough, with a single finger taking several years to regrow completely. This power has 2 major flaws. One, the regeneration isn't fast enough to recover significant wounds in the middle of a fight. Any decent wounds still hamper him as normal, and he can still die to fatal wounds and bleeding, etc. The second limitation is that this power naturally increases his metabolism to provide the body with enough body fuel for the power. As a result, Tobias must constantly eat to provide his body with enough nourishment to live. While it slows down enough to stave hunger off while sleeping, he has to eat 3x as much as a normal human, unless continually snacking through the day. He also must absolutely eat after most strenuous activities. Failing to do so will result in him being physically strained or weakened beyond normal and, if not careful, can cause his body to cannibalize his internal organs to supply the burnt energy.
2nd Major Power - Molecular Density Control
With this power, Tobias can control the overall density of his body and the absolute surface area on him (essentially extending to his clothing, not really able to affect other objects). He can shift his density either higher, making him more resilient to physical harm, or shift his density downward, granting him increased agility and making him light enough to glide. There are some major and minor flaws, as this is a relatively unknown power to Tobias. Firstly, he isn't able to manifest it consciously without some effort, which distracts him from what he's doing and takes time. Instinctive reactions tend to be faster but unpredictable, leading to some unintended drawbacks more often than not. Secondly, the agility gain from shifting to a lower density isn't impressive enough to count as super-human agility. Also, shifting to a higher density slows Tobias down considerably, with the highest he can achieve making him walk slower than most frail humans. Thirdly and most importantly, Molecular Density Control can only be used by Tobias for about 10 seconds out of a day without any harm. Any more time spent using the power tends to cause severe internal wounds that, while not a bleeding hazard, are difficult to recover from. Tobias has suffered once, having unintentionally used this for more than 10 seconds and causing a minute portion of his left lung to "fade" from existence. Though he's managed to live without it, it was painful and debilitating. Lastly, if anything impacts him while he is shifting density, there's a chance that the body's molecules take a chaotic shift and cause injuries beyond what would be caused (this could include a baseball thrown at him) This is a very unstable power he has yet to develop into having any major use, though he is in the process of controlling it better.
Minor Power: Perfect Eidetic Memory
Tobias is able to lucently recall the sight, smell, sound, and feeling of any moment he's dedicated to memory. The feelings recalled includes both physical touch and emotional state, which has been part of the torment caused by his history and background.
Member Group: Neutral
Canon or not:
Appearance: Scruffy, brown-haired boy with gray highlights, seemingly due to stress, frame the hazel eyes Tobias calls his own. He keeps a tense strain in his left shoulder, but is otherwise calm in appearance. He almost always is seen with a snack bag of some sorts, be it trail mix, chips, candy, or anything else. And he frequently snacks on such things all day. Tobias is built fairly slim, with almost no fat on his body and a modicum of muscle. He stands about 5'4" and weighs somewhere near 113lbs. While not very noticeable, he does have a set of small scar marks on his left shoulder from his accident.
When not in a mandatory uniform, Tobias sticks to a button-down shirt and long pants, usually cargo pants to hide any trinkets he has concealed (not very many he would conceal, but still). He keeps on hand a silver necklace given to him by his current foster parents. He usually wears his chef's hat when using his spare time to cook. It was a present given also by his current foster parents on his birthday, with the words "Summa Autem Cocus" scrawled on the rim.

Overall Personality: He's a bit of a... how should I put it... super bookworm. He likes to read... a lot. And is a bit of a muncher, even after eating breakfast, lunch, second lunch (yes, he takes those), etc. He's not a overly social guy, but has a bit of a defender streak in him. He never liked bullies, and, though he wouldn't be a talker, will stand up to anyone picking on someone else. Think him the not-so-strong, silent defender.
More than anything, he likes to think as creatively as possible; Though he is not as good in words as he is in cooking, he does do a bit of creative writing every now and again. Mostly, he keeps to himself, though he's been pushing himself to be more social. He does tend to overreact to some situations, but this is all a part of the challenge of being more social.
Most importantly, he's not selfish... overly hungry, yes, but not selfish. He may try to clamber for every bit of scraps he can manage, but is generous with whatever he has, and has always put another's well-being before himself. Most of all, those few people that can call him a close friend will find that he is willing to give more than his life for their friendship. He has had no one he could depend on before in such a way, so every person counts.
History
Family Members/guardians: Only distant family members, all of whom rejected him after his parents' death. Legal guardians are his current foster family (notably, the first foster family he's actually worked with emotionally)
History: Tobias never noticed any of his powers when he grew up. He began speaking at a very early age, and he somehow never got sick... not even a cold. The few times he went out to play, he'd get some scrapes from walking around, falling, etc, but they always seemed to be gone when he got home. Even when he fell down and scraped his knee real bad when he was 9, by the time he was home, his parents didn't know which knee they should put neosporin onto. Tobias always remembered a birthday or important date, and he was great at trivia.
These kinds of things are what made his most tragic moment so horrible. His family was coming home from a family reunion, when Tobias became upset over not being able to sleep over at his friend's house. His father, turning to scold him, wasn't able to react to a semi-truck driver that fell asleep at the wheel and veered off. Tobias' last memories of his mother and father are the screams of fear and the pull of the car as his mother and father tried desparately to protect him.
He fell unconsious from the impact...
As he awoke, the sound of sirens blared in the air as paramedics pulled him from the wreckage. As a miracle, he survived with only one major wound: part of his shoulder seemed to shatter in several spots, all unexplainable in their pattern. By all conditions, either the shoulder should have shattered completely or be cracked in one point at the least. He came to, and the only thing he could ask was "Where's my mommy and daddy?"
He looked over at the least opportune moment, as both bodies were sealed right before his eyes. He'd never witnessed it before, but there was no doubt:
Tobias' mother and father had died, right before his very eyes.
Over the next several years, he bounced from foster home to foster home. The only time this wasn't the case was when he stayed in orphanages. He never was the same, always inconsolable, usually tending to stick to books and eating quietly. One of the few outlets he had was cooking. He loved to play around as a chef and, after he lost his parents, cooking became his main vent... his one perfect way to distract himself. All the time, he seemed haunted by the images of that night... that one fateful night that spared him, of all people. He feels locked in an eternal fight between the emotions he felt at that point in time (which, he has noted, is unusual that he can recall so vividly) and his mature, straightforward standpoint that it was beyond his power to change.
It's only until recently that his unique... gifts, have come to his attention. One of the newer students at his last school was being picked on again... this time, sounded like about being too wimpy to be a jock. Apparently, this kid was going into the optional Culinary Pre-College course offered here. That stung a sensitive spot personally, and he has had no good feelings on bullies before.
So, he took a stand. He stood up, put himself between the one kid and the bullies. They thought they could teach him a lesson for going against one of the "elite". That's when the first crack of bone were heard. A wild punch flew out and, for a brief moment, Tobias flashed to his thoughts of the accident. Uncontrollably, he flinched and tightened up. When the punch connected, though, he didn't seem to feel it as much. Not only that, it sounded like the guy's handbones broke. This frightened Tobias severely, whereupon he fled the school.
Not knowing what to do, he ran out and down to the old graveyard, to where his parents were buried. He sat there, sobbing as everything seemed to well up at once. In this uncontrolled outburst, he lashed out at himself. He kept blaming himself for everything, and that nothing he could do would change that fact. Deep inside, though, some of the good memories started to come back. He remembered his mother's smile, how it always warmed him up when he was sad. He remembered his father taking him to the park his first time. He even remembered how excited he was on his 4th birthday, when his father and mother came home with his first cookbook. In that moment, Tobias finally started to forgive himself. He still feels haunted by those dark memories, but he's now attempting, very VERY slowly, to try and replace them with good ones.
Behind the Character
Name: Issac
Chatango Name: Golmurren
RP Experience: About 5 years, starting with Tabletop RPGs and extending into MMORPGs as well.
How did you find us: Government Propaganda from Sky
RP Sample: "...as the midnight cloak covered his face, all that could be seen was the look of.... of... Grr.....". The sound of a pen falling on a writing book signals that Tobias has given up on writing for the evening. The last hour has been somewhat productive, but he's hit a block yet again. Tobias figures he'll find a way past it some time later. He's up just a bit past his bedtime, but figures that, since this is his last day before heading to that new "school", he's allowed a bit of a rules break.
"Hmph... don't know about this place... sounds more like an X-men Comic than anything else. Then again...", he glances down at his shoulder and massages out a slight cramp creeping up. "... I have no idea what I really am or can do. Nobody here knows, that's for damn sure." As he falls over into his bed and closes his eyes, the nightmares begin to creep up again. Flashes of agony, mixed with the sounds of screaming people and bright lights flare through his mind. In his inner mind, he's gone over this plenty of times. Nothing has changed and nothing will change. The only thing he has left to do is try to let go and think of better things...
Things like his favorite foods, the smell of sweet vanilla and chocolate, mixed with the creamy tasty of peanut butter; a combination only Moose Tracks Ice Cream could concoct.
Things like the sound of his mother's voice, which sounded so cheerful and soothing before. It was almost as if she had the voice of an angel granted to her, just for that very reason.
As his mind cleared and calmed, he could focus on more important questions. Why was he able to do the things he supposedly can do? How come the government wants to corral me in some mystical highschool for mutants, aliens, and magicians? Most importantly, what's gonna happen to him when he gets pulled into this place?
As he glances up and opens his eyes, he notices the night passed by in a flash and that daytime fast approaches. The agents will be back anytime soon, so he better get prepared.
As he bounds up, he breathes in deeply and breathes a sigh of relief and a realization: That was the most refreshing sleep he had, and this was only the beginning. Donning his typical black button-down shirt over his slimmed frame, he gathers up the rest of his things and places them together: Just a few changes of clothes, a few recipe books, a couple quills and ink wells, some ink pens, several blanks books to write in and his chef's hat.
"Maybe this school can make me do the one thing I can't normally do...", says Tobias, taking in a deep breath and straightening his body out. "Maybe this school can make me be human again..."
