Power: Bungee Gum: can alter his aura's consistency into an incredibly sticky substance somewhat akin to bubble gum, albeit much stronger. It can be used to pull opponents within punching range for a flurry of rebound pummels. Bungee Gum can both stretch and contract, depending on what Branton desires. It can be attached either by pointing at his target or through direct physical contact. Additionally, Bungee Gum can also be used to cover a greater area by molding it into a sheet rather than a string. It is so reliable and durable that it can act as a shield against attacks or as a means to return them to their original caster. When not attached to Branton's body, Bungee Gum cannot stretch more than 10 meters, nor last more than two minutes.
This substance is normally invisible to the naked eye unless Branton allows to it to be seen, or it comes in contact with another person. However, if someone has the power to see energy/aura/chi etc etc (Like Aura) they'd be able to see it. When Branton does allow it to be seen it glows bright neon pink color. Also, since the gum is so sticky a person would be able to feel it once it touches their skin.
Texture Surprise: Branton can apply his aura to any thin surface (such as paper or cloth) and change its appearance. He mainly use this ability for deception, in combat he envelops his cards with it them to make them invisible through the naked eye, with texture surprise he can wrap a cloth and tie it together with his Bungee gum to trick an enemy into thinking that he's unwounded with their attacks by making it look like he has undamaged clothing, skin, or limbs. The same thing can be applied outside combat such as imitating tattoos and letter forgery. However, if any physical contact is made the deception becomes obvious.

Appearance: Branton is considered to be handsome in a devilish kinda way. His once blonde hair has been died a dark blue, and is fashioned in a "pineapple style". His bangs hang messily over his misty blue eyes. A soft jaw frames the rest of his face with thin lips, and a straight nose to compliment it. His complexion is a soft peach color that is blemished by faded scars that cover his body. Branton is a fairly-tall teenager, just barely missing the six foot mark by a mere two inches (5'10), but Branton makes up for his intimidating size by excising. His body is one that has been honed to help him make up for his abilities lack of combative qualities. Thus his weight is 148 pounds.
During most of his appearances, Branton wears the Ashford Academy school uniform with the buttons of the jacket undone, revealing a shirt with a misty design (shown to be a short-sleeved shirt when not wearing the jacket). However, he does has some street clothes. All of which normally consist of a dark color jacket over a much lighter-colored shirt. Along with black pants (rarely jeans), gloves, and two belts. He almost always wear his almost knee high black boot though.
Personality
Overall Personality: When people think of a magician the first thought that pops into their heads is an image of a silly little man in a stupid outfit pulling a rabbit from a hat. All the while wearing some kind of amazed expression on his face. In the case of Branton Applegate, this wasn't it. Most people think that they have figured him out. But, as it would turn out, he is a hard difficult man to predict.
Branton is on the surface a dishonest man trying to live his dishonest magician life. This is because he thoroughly believes that a dishonest man can be always trusted to be dishonest. While, it was the honest ones that needed to be watched out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly stupid.
Mischievous by nature, and a trickster at heart he often has lured people to watch his performance. Only to use a cheap trick to pick their wallets while they were distracted, and quickly disappeared before they had noticed. This is because Branton is entirely self-serving, self-absorbed and selfish because Branton does whatever he likes as long as it pleases him in some way. On top of this, Branton seems to be a carefree character, rarely serious and always with a smug smirk on his face.
Despite often being shown with a playful smile, Branton is apathetic to the suffering of others. He is not averse to disposing of those who get in his way and is not easily intimidated, usually speaking to others in a very direct and arrogant manner. He cares little for others, and simply considers people to be "toys" or "tools" he can sacrifice in order to get what he wants. Whenever in combat, Branton relies more on intelligence, agility, and quick wit to protect himself, rather than physical strength. He has an insatiable love for spilling the blood of powerful fighters in combat. It gives life to the underlining story line that he receives sexual gratification from doing so. In order for them to grow to their full potential (so as to improve the pleasure of killing them later), Branton will allow combatants to live during situations wherein he is easily able to kill them. Likewise, he grows excited to meet any new characters he deems worthy of fighting or anyone with potential to be a good fighter and entertain him in the future.
Branton is or at the least, can be sociopathic. While he can like others, he has stated that for him, valuable one day could mean trash the next and could kill anyone with little to no reservation. He is completely self-centered and manipulative with all of these traits being indicative of sociopathy. He does not care for what has happened in the past as he is only interested in what could be amusing to him in the future or present. While Branton's nature tends to be malevolent, he isn't an indiscriminate killer. While he has no problems killing anyone regardless of age or sex, he only kills people who are in his way or people he deems "worthy". As such his character is more simply amoral than flat out evil. He will even assist his enemies if there is "fun" in doing so or if it will make them stronger for a more entertaining fight in the future. Above all else, Branton cares only about having fun and a good challenge which may or may not (but mostly may) involve killing people.

Beth Applegate
History: Seventeen years ago, Bob and Beth Applegate were blessed with a beautiful baby boy. However, their son did not come in screaming, wailing or crying in anyway, nor was he asleep. The baby was wake, and perfectly calm through his birth. When he was handed to his mother she decided to go with what they plan on naming him originally, but add a unique twist to match how difference from other newborns. Thus, he was named Branton instead of Brandon as intended.
After they're first child, the couple decided to have no more children so that they could devote all of their love and attention to Branton. His mother quit her job to be a stay-at-home-com, and his father kept his job as a doctor. So, Branton grew up an only child with loving parents who were ready to give him the world, and anything else he wanted. Although, despite being born unique, Branton's life was anything but. He lived in a nice house with a picket fence, had a dog named spot, went to school and made friends. By all means Branton life was normal, and any kid would have been happy with it, but Branton was not.
Nothing interesting happened ever happened in his life, and he despised it. He desperately craved for something that made him interesting like his name sake. Then on his sixteenth birthday he got his wish. He unlocked his Texture Surprise ability, and a week later discovered his Bungee Gum power. Finally he had something truly made him different from the majority. Something that he could use to end his mundane life. So, the next night Branton sneaked into his parents bedroom when they were sleeping, and used his power to tear both of his parents limps off.
After the murdering his parents Branton felt relieved. As if he had been freed from his chains, and was now allowed live his life anyway he wanted. With his newly found freedom, Branton ran away from the scene of the crime, and traveled across the country. Using his powers to steal from, manipulate, and kill people. It was during these travels that Branton came across another gifted, and learned that he was not the only one with powers. At first Branton was angry, and attacked the boy. Resulting in a battle that pushed Branton to his limits, and the death of the other boy.
However, unlike the relief he felt with his parents, he felt different. He realized just how excited he felt during the battle. He had never felt more alive in his entire life. He began to crave more. He once again was in need of something to make his life interesting. And again Branton got his wish.
Shortly after his battle found by Government Agents, and was shipped off to Ashford.
