Basics
Name: Aiden Walsh
Nicknames: Gray, Grumps,
Age: 17
Birthday:July 14th, 1998
Grade: 11th
Power: Airwave Manipulation (Major)
Aiden has a preternatural connection to the presence of airwaves, the fluctuation of molecules in the air that lend to sound and air pressure, even on the level of controlling the amplitude and frequency of said fluctuations. With his level of control, Aiden is able to perform a variety of effects that are associated with Wind and Sound Manipulators, as he can control the underlying principle behind said powers. With the amount of techniques this power gives, the following list gives a rough representation of what he is able to accomplish, though it is not a complete list.
- Able to control the air around, either causing or negating gusts, strong winds, or breezes.
- Able to emit varying sounds, with effects ranging from debilitating screeches to soothing tones, releiving minor side effects from injuries such as pain, nasuea, etc.
- Able to harden or sharpen the air into razor-sharp wind.
- Able to contain and condense sonic frequencies to creat vibrokinetic constructs
- Able to manipulate sounds around him to have incredible hearing, as well as Send and receive whispers or other forms of audible communication privately, keeping it so localized that only a single person can receive his messages.
- Has limited form of echolocation, though he cannot concentrate on this power without closing his eyes, else the sensory input will overload him.
- Is able to coat his body in a Kinetic shield that gives him protection, affords him pseudo-enhanced strength, and let's him fly and move at near sonic speeds. He can move at Supersonic speeds, but the resulting strain will quickly cause his body to start to tear apart under the stress.
While certain aspects of the power have their inherient limits, the power itself does have certain constraints in a general understanding. First and most primarily, Aiden cannot continuously maintain all of his abilities without overstraining his body. At best, he can maintain about 2 constant powers such as constructs or persistant sounds before more will start to distract him. On top of that, if he maintains 3 or more groups of constructs and/or sustained effects, he cannot project any attacks such as sonic blasts or razor wind shots. As an added limit, his vibrational powers are limited to only bladed constructs, and the molecule-to-air frequency ratio cannot be increased beyond 80%. This means his vibrational blades can cut through up to stone, but metals are able to block them. Lastly, His physical body is only slightly adapted to the extreme effects of his powers and, if not careful, he could subject himself to backlash if he does not shield himself from his own abilities, such as when he launches a sonic boom without protecting himself.
Member Group: Prefect
Canon or not: Commander of Prefect Team Beta/Second in Command
Appearance: Standing at firm 5'11" and 144lbs, Aiden carries a lean, toned structure and body. His gray-white hair streaks wildly, taking far too much grease to slick down to be worth the effort, while his eyes carry a darker, slate gray tone to them. While he has no scars, his left cheek is marked with a tattoo that, while few actually know of the importance, signified him as part of the Saor Éire; The tattoo is a bloody raven with a small trail of blood streaking down his cheek from the bird itself.
With his upbringing in recent years, Aiden generally sticks to keeping in his school uniform. However, on the few free days he has, he'll slip into his usual white button shirt, a set of black jeans, and a hooded black and white jacket, a comfortable, if odd, outfit choice. He hardly wears the outfit, though, feeling as though it's a mark of rebellion he does not wish anyone else to see.
Personality
Overall Personality: Let's put it this way: Aiden is the kind of guy you point at a job and have him do while you quietly try to avoid him. By no means is Aiden sociable, but he's a hard-working, dependable person at heart. When problems come up, he'll be the first to answer them, but you'll usually find him stubbornly trying to disarm them in not-so-friendly ways, which tends to exacerbate the situation. Still, his determined behavior means well, so don't be too harsh on him. Otherwise, you might end up as the next on his list of "problems."
Though, it's not like Aiden /wants/ to behave like this. He just has never been good at expressing himself. For the most part, he's been a reclusive minion, always told what to do. It's why his military life was so easy to him. And while he isn't happy about being knocked out and sent to Ashford, he feels he has little choice in the matter. Nothing would make him happier than to take complete charge of his life, but he really doesn't see a "light at the end of the tunnel," so to speak.
And who can blame him, given the crap he's dealt with. It's why, as much as his past made him how he is, he hides it extensively. He does this because he's ashamed of how he was. Deep down, he's insecure, just like a lot of other people, but he worries most about how people will judge him. There's only one other person he's ever been open with, but if anyone could ever change that, you've done something akin to a miracle.

History
Family Members/guardians:
Parents: Unknown (thought to be deceased)
Guardian: Braden MacFadden (Saor Éire mobster/strongarm)
History: Aiden's days as a baby aren't known to him. Sure, he had parents, and they loved him, from what images he remembers of them, but he doesn't know their names. The last time he can remember seeing them was a few short days before he was taken away by the man he'd grow up to know as Braden MacFadden. No one knows for sure, but the parents never appeared after that day, so it's assumed they were "disposed of" by crooks of some kind.
What no one knows is that they were knocked off by the mob in their hometown of Tralee by a recent rebirth of the Saor Éire mob. Turns out that, while Aiden would never know this, his grandfather was one of the officers who gunned down one of the original members, and a disgruntled nephew decided to start things back up, starting with offing Aiden's parents. Braden found Aiden as he was cleaning house and, as a twisted thought popped into his mind, whisked the child off to be brought into "The Family."
This wasn't the most loving "family," though, as anytime Aiden made a mistake, it cost him a beating or two. Many days he went with little or no food, not to mention the crappy living quarters. And through it all, Aiden learned that, if nothing else, you've gotta work to protect yourself above everything else. Sure, they tried to instill a "Family always has your back" mentality in him, but he knew better from the beatings. They never cared for him; they just used him as punching bag for their own amusement.
In fact, even as he did what he was told, if not for the relief of being hit less, he did all he could to make their lives harder. He stole from them just as they had him steal from others, and he would sometimes try to sabotage the more dangerous crimes. This didn't always work out, though, and more often than not backfired, getting him in deeper trouble. Still, he kept to his sabotage efforts, and no matter what they tried to do to break him, they simply fueled his desire to make them pay for what they did to him.
It wasn't as though he was locked up, though, which gave him time to himself. Of course, most of that time was spent running the streets for his own things, even putting together a few stashes of odds and ins. He even managed to make one friend: a young girl, roughly a year younger than him, who he helped out from being pinned under some fallen debris. He didn't feel right leaving her injured and alone, so he took the time to make sure she was better. Turns out she was an orphan as well and, over time, they two became good friends. Even at their worst, they always seemed to cheer each other up.
What happened to the girl, Aiden doesn't know, as everything changed when he was 13. First, his powers began to kick in: his hearing became heightened, the wind seemed to blow favorably onto him, and he even felt like he was seeing things when his eyes were closed. Not long after, a covert military team raided the Saor Éire Mob, and wiped all of them cleanly out, though it was never confirmed that the team eliminated Braden. When the soldiers went to apprehend Aiden, his first sonic blast flew out as he screamed in terror. The resulting shockwave knocked him unconscious, though, and the rest of the team packed up those wounded by Aiden's outburst and shipped out with him in tow.
It was at this point that the IRA decided they could benefit from having a kid like Aiden as part of the armed forces and, in a quick move, worked him into the military under a "Youth Rehabilitation Program." It was a harsh life still for Aiden, but instead of being beaten and practically starved, now he was pushed and properly cared for. Sure, the camp was hell on his body, but the atmosphere was a much-needed shift from the hell he was in before. And soon after he adjusted, he started to see his conditioning improve. He still was cautious to not upset people, keeping to following orders like a good little soldier, but at least he wasn't trying to fight back through sabotage.
Even this relatively moderate part of his life would end, though, as several months later, a team of Interpol agents said they needed to take Aiden in for questioning concerning members of an unrelated mob incident. The IRA, desperately trying to keep a hold on their "supersoldier in the works," used ever bureaucratic resource they had to hold onto him, but after a week of blocking the agents, the team decided to leave without the boy. Not so surprisingly, Aiden found himself abducted by the same "Interpol" agents. The group of four, the only name of which Aiden remembers as Jack, whisked him away to a facility associated with the Ashford Project, whereupon Aiden was given an ultimatum: He submits to the program and takes up a future position of their choice, or he gets sent to the labs for experimentation.
Aiden had run out of options and fight at this point, so he took the offer. For the next couple years or so, Aiden was put throught the most intense training and conditioning he'd ever been through, and he steadily gained a better grasp of his powers as he went through the program. It wasn't much longer before he was deemed "viable" and sent off to Ashford itself, where he was gifted the position he holds now as Beta Team Commander of the Prefects. Now, it's time to see what trouble Aiden can get into and put an end to, or what mysterious plans the Ashford Project has in store for him.
