Katsuo Karlock
"Momma never told me how to love,"
Nowadays things seemed peaceful at this island - nothing too troublesome that Katsuo couldn't handle. He had the usual scuffle from time to time, yet it was so common that it seemed normal. Nothing seemed exciting anymore, not even the trouble caused as a Battle Front to get himself him off this island. The Prefects that resisted them, tried to constrain them, didn't even appeal to him. Everything seemed to fall into a rhythm - a pattern - a routine. Katsuo didn't want this to be the rest of his live, trying to fight for his rights. Sure, he wouldn't let the school oppress him, telling him he was a monster for being born the way he was, but what was the point, exactly? He wouldn't get what he want without sacrifices, and he personally didn't know if he was ready for those challenges.
That's why he was up here, up in a freshly bloomed tree, gazing at the little sky he could see through the thick bunches of leaf and branches. His hands were tucked behind his head, acting as a soft little pillow. Katsuo's eyes closed, taking a deep breath in. He simply marveled on how fresh it smelled out, and it calmed his nerves. He let his right leg hang, swaying with the wind, while propping his left leg up in a mountain form. This was main sleeping position, and believe it or not, that was actually how he slept at night. Then again, he always ended up on the floor, suffocated in pillows. He chuckled at the thought, a small smile placed on his lips. The point of it, anyway, was to help his clear his mind of his doubts.
It was working.
As his mind cleared, he started to doze off. His breathing was steady, and he tossed a bit. Katsuo seemed to forget he was in a branch, that could easily break under his weight. Who knows, he might end up on the floor again - this time with branches and bruises everywhere. He groaned softly, putting his cheek on his left hand since his right hand had already started to droop. With this weight shift, he started to slip from the branch.
But when Katsuo falls asleep, he falls hard, and right now, he might end up falling for real.
