To the left? Nothing but darkness. To the right? Nothing but darkness. Good, no one was around. Sticking close to the wall Zane inched his way slowly around the corner and across the hall. He was completely and utterly invisible in this empty hall which no one else was occupying... or so he kept telling himself.
Earlier that day-
"What? No I don't get lost, I've been here long enough to know where I'm going.." Zane had just been lounging around the courtyard while chatting it up with some random new kids. They seemed okay, acting perfectly humane with casual conversations about the weather and upcoming projects. Their true feelings, on the other hand, felt mischievous as if they had some other plan in mind. Though he wasn't about to let his guard down around these odd newcomers, the warm sun was starting to make him tired. He'd casually told them to scram and to his surprise they left good-heartily saying something about having a good day.. it was defiantly strange but he gave it no mind. That was a mistake, obviously.
The next thing Zane remembered was waking up and feeling carpet instead of grass when he stood up. 'Well, isn't this one of the oldest tricks in the book.' That's what he gets for failing to pay attention and falling asleep right after telling someone with mischievous feelings to buzz off. They probably had some kind of gravity manipulation power at their disposal and planned this from the very beginning. Whatever, Zane could take a joke, not like this was the first time- the only problem was figuring out where the hell he was.
Keeping his hand against the wall, it would often dip slightly onto another wooden surface then come back to the wall so he had to be in a dormitory. Then, despite his denial that he could be noticed, the distant giggling confirmed his position was dominated by girls.. so.. he was in the girls' dormitory.. but was it the 3rd floor? 4th? or was he in the perfect girls'? God he hoped not, that'd cause a lot more trouble..
Either way.. 'You can't be seen, you don't hear voices, and no one knows you're here.' The thoughts may be futile but it gave him peace of mind. Eventually he'd run into someone willing to talk to the strange boy pretending no one could see him, or he'd find the exit and pretend this incident never happened.. he was hoping for the latter but seeing as he was heading away from the stairs that might take awhile. There was a possibility that a perfect would be called to remove him, but so far his experience with that group was bad. The only one of them he'd probably accept help from would be McCoy.
