Basics
Name: Claire Mae Spencer.
Nicknames: Claire.
Age: 15.
Birthday: May 26.
Grade: 9th.
Power:
• Pyrokinesis
Claire can generate and manipulate existing fire whenever she desires. She can burn, propel a flurry of fireballs, twist flames at any shape and size, and etc. The initial stages of controlling this power were close to impossible, yet with perseverance, she was able to come to terms with the ability. She is especially fond of manipulating fire attacks flung at her by fellow pyrokinetic users. Though fire in general is her greatest bet for offense, such ability is dangerously in sync with her emotions, more of a disadvantage than a benefit on her part.
When angered, it’s self-explanatory that her power will amplify in intensity, and may put her consciousness (as well as the remnants of her rationality) in jeopardy as she will not accept an end to her usage. When in this state, it is suggested to successfully knock her out for a while. Since she is not accustomed to battles with long durations, her capability of generating and manipulating fire may weaken, which may usually be caused by exhaustion. There are also other factors which may effectively degrade her ability. Rain, snow, simple cold weathers, and water-based attacks utterly defeat her purpose.
• Fire Breathing
By the name itself, Claire has the ability to exhale fire. She has control over the desired shape and burst of her flame, yet she is still a long way to go when it comes to the magnitude; as of the moment, her exhausted fire can only reach a meek distance of five feet, indicating that she has to be close to the opponent if ever she wants to use this ability. Given the all-out convenience and ease of simple fire generation and manipulation, Claire does not use “Fire Breathing” so often, but when given much thought and training, this ability can potentially harm a group of adversaries for a prolonged period. The power is still subject to vulnerability when opposed to low temperatures and water-based offenses. Claire still aspires to improve this ability—perhaps even more so than her first.
• Fire Immunity/Resistance
This is especially connected to her secondary ability. Her body (including her vital organs) is completely capable of surviving extremely high temperatures, thus utterly susceptible to freezing or simply cold weathers. The immunity of her throat and lungs is the very reason she can breathe fire without harming herself.
Member Group: Prefect.
Canon or not: Not.
Appearance:
Even for a fifteen-year-old, her stature is rather short and alarmingly petite, barely noticeable with a height of exactly five feet and a weight of one hundred six pounds. Her current build is greatly affected by the everyday exhaust of her enthusiasm and the burden of her academic demands, to which she shoulders with an insatiable passion. Meanwhile, one can tell that she is fated to be a girl of speed and balance rather than strength and endurance. Much compensation is also made, however, with the fiery of her large hazel eyes and the flow of her long, black hair that reaches way past her upper back, bordering around hues of dark purple when in lighter surroundings.
The former is most especially exalted, as they are actually, by far, her greatest weapons apart from her powers. Framed with thick eyelashes, the hazel orbs shift hues from maroon to a slight bit of red, heavily relying on her emotions and the magnitude of her abilities; they are quite unpredictable, much to the advantage to the people she comes across, as she is easy to read.
Boasting of a skin quite fair and unfamiliar with the marks of imperfection, she finds comfort in wardrobes that are relatively revealing, but with reasonable limits. Claire is strictly not in favor of wearing jackets and other heavily-layered clothing, even in winter, yet she is compelled to do so when having to undergo the said chilly season. Her body is notably well-adapted to environments with high temperatures and is typically seen going to beaches and other summer-baked sites whenever she yearns to unwind from her everyday endeavors. In Ashford, she does slight modifications to her uniforms, such as folding her sleeves, regardless of the season, or even taking off the white blazer when she deems it inconvenient. Although Claire is petite, she possesses the deportment of influence, persuasion, and unrelenting diligence.

Overall Personality:
Free-spirited. Impulsive. Frank. Eloquent.
Claire is a glaring image of a simple tongue of fire, flared with unpredictability and effortlessly impinged by the likes of anger and irritation. Though she is not necessarily the grand epitome of short tempers, Claire has the tendency to backfire others with her writing, speech, and free-spirited state of being. She expresses daggers of honest opinions and rarely ever sugarcoats her words to conform to the likes of her companions. Her words are usually clear, promising, and definitive. Her decisions are based upon what she thinks or feels—or perhaps even a combination of both—and quite a number of them are made out of pure whim, which can cause strong disagreements to those around her, most especially when a particular resolution is completely irrational. In totality, she behaves and does what she pleases, generally independent from the opinions and demands of others.
Friendly. Vindictive. Inconsiderate. Fun-loving.
A passionate despiser of idleness and day-to-day repetition, she is always caught cultivating different kinds of friendships, ranging from the loud bunch to the caverns of the mute, rarely ever cancelling herself out from whatever entertainment there is available. Claire’s expressive nature has the potential to ostracize those who continually hold their peace, as she always desires her opinions to be heard at any point. She also bends the rules, commits healthy mischief, and spurts insults and teases whenever she feels like it, potentially at the expense of people’s feelings, which may trigger unwanted enemies. Whatever close friends she may have already possess her trust, yet when it is betrayed, she will find no qualms in getting even with them. They will be able to taste the bitterness of her unforgiving temperament which is unfortunately unquenchable. She is a complete outsider in the fields of mercy.
Witty. Competitive. Stubborn. Determined.
Claire is overall resolute in her everyday struggle to live. She continuously envisions life as a battlefield, teeming with unforeseen adversities and equally dominant enemies sent her way. Claire is one of those who aspires to be the best—not necessarily in everything—but in her fields of great interest. Nevertheless, when given a challenge, she easily antagonizes the very idea of losing against it, not ever willing to back down, and whenever she is heavily weighed by failure, she is usually heard demanding for a rematch. Claire listens selectively to suggestions, proposals, and advices, heeding them only when she wholeheartedly agrees—she dismisses the rest with a stubborn wave of her hand. As mentioned before, she does and says only what she pleases. When in a situation of conversing casually with people, she rarely ever takes things seriously, and may joke around frequently.
Inextinguishable.
Those are only fractions of her as a person. There’s more to know about Claire than meets the flame.
History
Family Members/Guardians:
Arianna Spencer – Mother (alive)
Sean Spencer – Father (alive)
Elena Spencer – Older sister (alive)
History:
Born as the youngest of the family, Claire lived a life of boundless convenience and luxury. A carefree childhood alongside with her older sister resulted from growth unshackled by grief and trauma—most likely a scarcity thereof. Both siblings were intellectual, inquisitive, and are adapted to the methods of fast learning. It is through these fascinating inclinations that the Spencer siblings were permitted to do as they pleased. Despite the constant bickering and the seeking of dominance over the other every playtime, they had a fairly good relationship. However, as the years prompted in progression, Claire seemed to gain an upper hand in her academics, including her extracurricular activities at school. These developments alone had planted seeds of insecurity within her older sister, pressured by the weight of being the next breadwinner and of being responsible of the well-being of Claire.
Meanwhile, upon being recruited to the school newspaper, she was able to discover her passion and innate talent in writing, particularly journalism for the most part. When she finally turned thirteen, she heard her family openly discussing about the controversy regarding the existence of Ashford Academy, a highly-esteemed private school. They also made mention of several criticisms. Claire was uncharacteristically silent at that point, uncertain as to which of the claims were factual and fiction, yet she fortunately slept it into oblivion one night. Her mind was engulfed by academic and family concerns to consider such a matter worthy of apprehension. Several months before she turned fourteen, she caused a fire accident in the science lab, much to the surprise and instant terror of eye-witnesses, but what triggered them to surrender the option of calming down was the sight of Claire being able to manipulate the fire into a smaller flame.
On the other side of the story, she was at first fanning at the fire in a vain attempt to appease the intensity, yet the direction of the flame seemed to obey the bidding of her fingers, going to where her hands danced in desperation. Out of whim, she used that supernatural opportunity to reduce the fire into one ball. Her classmates and her teacher feared such a phenomenon and couldn’t decide the best course of action. When the administration of the school had finally arrived to settle the incident, she was humiliated by spectators and was sent out of their sight. Claire was evidently upset regarding the abrupt course of events, and she had to wait outside the school for the administration to assess the situation, and then decide on what to do with her. The latter couldn’t be achieved, it seemed, if her family was kept in the dark regarding the occurrence, so her parents—including her older sibling—was called. After a length of deliberation, the administration had finally suggested her and her family to enroll her in another school, and it was no other than Ashford. They related to Claire how this institution was established in order to train those with special abilities. Her family deeply resented Claire for possessing such a power; on her part, it felt rather shallow to be considered an outcast simply due to the presence of an ability, yet she simultaneously discovered that it was rather a likely response to anyone who was outside of the norm in any way.
The next day, she was sent away to Ashford without a word being spoken. Claire was still completely distressed throughout the course of her stay in the academy, suffering defeat and uncontrollable episodes of burning and flame-throwing that the officials of Ashford had to hold her down for stricter control. She was trained until she was promoted to become a Prefect due to her dangerous ability. When she finally reached fifteen, she was found to be back on her feet, yet the animosity towards her family still remained. Claire somehow felt that if she ever wanted to return to her hometown, she would never be welcomed again. She had decided to go against all odds to give her and her novel life in the academy a fighting chance.
