Idiots will be Idiots (OPEN)

Skyelar sighed as she laid her head on the desk, irritated by what had transpired. The majority of the student council was now dead, leaving just her and Gael. She sighed a bit to herself, thinking about the fact. She was pretty much alone now, left to herself. "Of course the youngest of the council survives. What fucking luck." Her words were filled with sarcasm, annoyed by the fact alone that the idiots had gone and gotten themselves killed. She sat back up, looking at the paper she had been writing for a class absentmindedly, wondering what she had to do now. Classes weren't paused like they should have been. Had classes been paused then maybe, just maybe she would have been sitting here without them.

She shook her head and sat up in the seat, leaning back and looking up at the ceiling absentmindedly, wondering what she should do now. Here she was, sitting alone in the usual meeting place for the student council doing a paper. She shook her head, grabbing up the papers and looking down at them, a little bothered by the silence. She was used to the bickering that usually ensued, so it was odd for it not to be happening. She sighed and shook her head again, grabbing the juice box sitting on the corner desk she was at. She took a quick sip, thinking for a moment before words slipped from her mouth, speaking a little louder than she probably should have.

"Idiots will be idiots, they will always be."

Ken was new here on the island, but he had already heard about the recent battles. It was surprising to him that Class was still going, and that some students just seemed to go along like nothing happened. Being new he felt he shouldn't say anything about how absurd it seemed because he didn't want anyone to dislike him yet. Being one of the new kids isn't the only thing he needs to worry about. Why you ask? Well upon entering the island he somehow became vice president of the student council. How did that happen? who knows, and truthfully who cares. As long as he can make a good impression he hopes he will do well. A paper was given to him about a normal meeting spot for the council so he hoped maybe someone will be in there to keep him company as he does some paper work for his father. 

Finding the room he knocked on the door before coming in. Opening the door slowly he peeked in to see a girl staring at the roof. Ken wasn't really to nervous since it was only one person, but hey new people can make anyone a little jittery. Walking in he closed the door behind him.

"Sorry hope I didn't disturb you." Ken shot of a soft smile as he set his bag down on a table.

Ken didn't sit right next to Sky instead he made sure there was a table in between them. Pulling out a large folder from his bag he started to read through it. Trying to do these things for his dad wasn't hard, but it did consume time. Hopefully in a couple days his dad would get better, and he could email the papers back.

Looking over at Skyelar he stuck his hand out. "Sorry if my intruding, and then sitting down to work seems rude. I'm Ken, Ken Armorr."

Skyelar blinked as she turned her head, blinking at the boy who had just walked into the room. She blinked at him lazily, the straw of the juice box sticking out of her mouth. She didn't know what to think of the boy at first, though he apologized for disturbing her. How was he disturbing her? She ruffled her wings, sitting forward and resting her head on her hands, looking at the guy lazily. She hadn't seen him before, we at least she didn't think she ha. She tapped her chin curiously, thinking about the fact for a moment before shrugging it off and sitting up straight. She looked down at her papers, wondering what she should write next for a moment before she realized he had spoken to her not once, but twice.

She gave him a friendly smile before speaking, her words flowing seamlessly, though her slight twang was obvious. "It's alright, I was doing work myself. Nice to meet ya Ken, name's Skyelar Falknor. I'm the current Student Council Treasurer, how can I help you?" she asked politely. She was used to people coming to her with help on homework, her demeanor was how she normally acted around new people or people who approached her with questions or just showed up for some reason. She was curious as to the boy's intent though, he didn't seem like he needed help, more like he was a little lost. She leaned tot he side, her arm propping up her head lazily as she spoke again.

"You look a little lost there. Did you make a wrong turn or something? Not many come to this classroom on purpose unless they are taking the class or here for a Council meeting, not that there are many of us left now..." Her thoughts trailed off for a moment, thinking back to what had happened. She had now survived quite a few ordeals, but how much longer would that last for the winged girl?

Ken smiled softly as She introduced herself. What luck he met another student council member so fast. She had nice wings, and he couldn't help to stare for a moment before looking back at his paper. Skyelar  asked Ken if he was lost. I guess the soft look in his eyes could give a lost expression.  She then stated that no one really came here unless they were here for class or Student council. Ken felt a little strange. He thought the news letter went out already. Someone said it would have.. Maybe it was just late.

 "Actually I am new to Student Council so I just came here because I was told we were allowed."

Ken turned the packet of papers over, and started to review the next page. He didn't really know what else to say so he just kind of scanned his dad's business papers. Being the heir to something was a lot harder than he hoped. Ken didn't mind helping his old man because his dad did everything for him that he could when he wasn't busy. being rich was great, but hey you can't stay rich if you let someone else control stuff for you. That is how Ken's dad ran his business for years, and he passed down the ideal of you can't win without doing it yourself down to him.

Ken's ideal win wasn't with the business though, but hey he was a good swimmer, but he never thought about himself as good enough to go pro. he did compete competitively for a while, but he decided he would rather just swim for fun. He would like to work somewhere he liked, but he decided that he would much rather keep his family name going strong.

"Sorry about what happened to your members with the war, and all." Ken said. "Don't hate me or anything as even I think they put me in a high position to soon."

Ken really did hope that any of the members that still lived wouldn't hate him, and he hoped that new members that wanted to be Vice president wouldn't hate him either. He was happy that he got a position at all Vice president was more than he ever hoped for.

"Ohhhh, that was you! Alright then, well then welcome to our little corner of the school. Not much to it, but then again the previous president was fairly simple minded when it came to most things," she stated simply, looking back at him curiously. She hadn't actually seen the picture they put in the newsletter, having been busy with other things but recognized the name now. She watched as he ruffled through the papers, noting that they looked like some kind of business documents. She probably shouldn't pry or look too closely at them, seeing as she could easily tell what they were if she had wanted to, hawk eyes can do that for a girl.

She watched him absentmindedly for a bit, not really sure what to make of him before he spoke, visible face-palming at the suggestion of her hating him. Why would she hate someone she hoped wouldn't charge recklessly into conflict? IF anything she was worried about how intelligent of a fighter he was. The last group, those who had died were reckless and bit off more then they could chew that ended with them falling. She looked up at him, her eyes showing no signs of her current thoughts before speaking.

"Why anyone would hate you for taking over a position I don't know, but I think it would be idiotic. Being thrust into a position out of nowhere is a bit cruel as it is. I personally willingly accepted the position. Also, I wasn't really all too close to any of them. Hell, they ignored me the majority of the time and forgot I was a member as well. Most meetings I was informed of on the day of instead of when they were scheduled by me happening to be here when they started. I personally just hope you actually recognize me as a member and accept my input instead of brushing it off like the previous members did. It gets quite annoying when that constantly happens to a girl."

She took a sip of her juice box, frowning in disappointment at the fact that she had just finished it off. What was she supposed to do now about a drink? She hadn't even finished her snack yet.

 Ken chuckled softy after Sky seemed to insult the former president. She went into a whole little rant about being ignored, and that made him very sad. No one deserved to be ignored. No matter how powerful, or smart everyone has some type of role. Ken marked something on the paper, and then put it back into his backpack. Zipping up he smiled at her as she finished her juice box. 

"I won't ignore anyone. There is no point." Winks at her.

Ken had finished the paper for now, and was going to head to the cafeteria. Lunch is almost over, and if he leaves now he could still get whatever is left. Ken wasn't to much of a picky eater so getting the food that no one bought isn't going to make him even a little upset. Ken couldn't possibly just walk out without asking Sky to join. He didn't even think twice. Hell she might not even eat normal food. Ken didn't know her powers so he didn't know what she was like, but he still asked.

"Hey want to go get whatever is left in the cafeteria." opening the door he stepped into the hall.

Ken stood there staring back his backpack strapped over one shoulder only. He smiled softly, and tilted his head to one side.

Skyelar looked up and blinked at the sudden request, caught a little off guard by it. She sat there for a moment, sipping at the juice box in her hand, trying to figure out how to respond. She was hungry, but then again she was always hungry. Having an unnaturally high metabolism would do that to a girl after all, IT was also the reason why she had trouble keeping on weight most of the time. She glanced back down at the paper, tapping her pencil on it for a moment before shrugging, putting down the juice box as she started to get things put away.

"Sure, why not. I can finish this paper a bit later, I gotta type it up eventually anyways."

She finished collecting her things, hefting her backpack over her back, nestling it snugly between her wings before turning and giving a friendly smile to the new vice president. She stepped over to the door, sliding out behind him and yet out a small yawn, stretching a bit as she moved around. She'd been sitting for a few hours, her muscles were a bit sore from the sudden change in pace and the fact that she had been flying just before sitting down to work on her school work. She gave a curt salute, smiling up at the boy playfully.

"Lead the way!"

Walking down the hall he thought about it for a second, and then decided he should just ask her. Hopefully she wouldn't get pissed off if he asked. Honestly judging by what he has seen so far he doesn't think she would care. Adjusting his bag he opened a door holding it so that Sky could go first. Walking out he looked at her.

" Hey miss Falknor, What type of bird wings are those? Your last name Falknor is derived from 'Falconer,' Which in turn was derived from the old french word ' Faulconnier,' which is a term of office for one who breeds, or trains falcons, and hawks for sports."

Adjust his bag again. "Are your wings actually a type of Falcon or Hawk? because honestly that would be cool." 

Ken tripped over his own foot. Stumbling some he chuckled. He felt a little embarrassed. Ken might have powers, but a clumsy human is what he is. He isn't always as graceful as superheroes in the comics, or action heroes in movies. Ken is just a real guy with legs that sometimes step a little to far forward, and accidentally trips over his other foot. Ken's stomach rumbled, and he opened the cafeteria door once they arrived. 

" Oh great first meeting huh?" Rubs his neck with a blush on his face. " I trip, and now my stomach is acting up."

Ken chuckled, and kept a smile on his face. Ken was honestly a friendly person, but he feels a little talkative today. Hopefully Skyelar wouldn't think he is obnoxious. ken genuinely wants to know more about his new comrade. Hopefully a friendship would be born. A friendship that would last as long as there lives on this island. Ken didn't want to be a loner on this island. Being so new compared to quite a few of the others really did make him a little nervous though.
