Huffing and puffing, Sage let out a gust of air from her small chest as she glanced around the room. Majority of the kids had already found someone to talk to or were hanging against the wall looking like they’d rather been thrown into a tank filled with eels than be here. Groups and antisocial kids, two things that she wasn’t planning on tackling this afternoon. Unfortunately that also gave her nothing to do. A bit of disappointment crept into her chest, she had hoped to make a new friend or two with this whole ‘Meet and Greet’ deal but it was simply not meant to be.
Popping up on her tippy toes, Sage tried to scan the room again with fading hope that she somehow missed a person that was actually semi-friendly looking. With no luck and her toes beginning to ache she dropped back to her heels. “Time to chalk up another adventureless day,” She muttered under her breath with a shrug. Oh well, time to find something else to preoccupied her thoughts. And what was better to steal the attention of a growing teenager than food? Absolutely nothing. Even if it was suspicious school food which may or may not be a century and a half old.
Taking the risk of the million year old food, the blonde bounded over to the food table. In theory, she would have went right over without issues. Gather a little plate and evaluate every type of snack laid out on the table and grab a cute little cup of punch. Then, with her food in one hand and drink in the other make her way over to a seat to eat in peace. However, this was Klutzilla and nothing was ever that simple. Instead of smoothly walking over, the floor decided it was a good time for a hug and attempted to drag her down to its level with the help of its best friend gravity.
So, she went tumbling down. But, it doesn’t stop there. Being as graceful as she is, Sage reached out for the table which ended up being the worst idea she’s had so far today. As soon as she did her bright green eyes turned to slow motion mode; she watched as the various snacks seemed to sprout wings and begin to fly off the table only to quickly fall to the floor in a scattered array around her. Not only that but the punch also jumped out of its respective home and came down as a waterfall around Sage and the table. All this happened within a span of a few seconds until Sage was on the floor with her white uniform covered in red blotches and snacks scattered around her.
Blinking, she glanced around at the mess she created. It was safe to say that she stirred up things up a bit. She could hear some muffled laughter mixed with whispers of what happened. Well, if nothing productive came out of this at least she could say she knew how to make a first impression. Whether it was a bad first impression or a good one was still up in the air. Heaving a sigh, Sage began picking up some of the food that surrounded her. Caring more about that then what was on herself naturally. Half of her wished that someone would come along and help her out, then the other half highly doubted that would happen. “Oh well, gotta clean up your mistakes sometime,” She said to herself.
