Basics
Name:
Ayato Kisaragi
Nicknames:
n/a
Age:
17
Birthday:
November 11th
Grade: 12th
Power:
Cyberpathy
Putting a much more complicated idea simply, Ayato has the ability to communicate with machines - basically most things that are both powered by electricity, and have some level of AI or internal processing system (meaning, he can communicate with a computer, but not a refrigerator). As far as what he can do with that communication is that, as long as he is touching the machine, he can make it work much faster than someone who is forced to use it in a conventional way. Rather than having to input codes or deal with hardware, he can simply 'ask' the machine to do what he wants it to do, and typically they respond. His power works much better and faster the more simple the machine is, and he always has to have physical contact with it for it to work. Basically, it makes it very easy for him to also fix problems with electronics because they are able to tell him exactly what is wrong.
Technopathy
Directly related to Ayato's power of cyberpathy, technopathy allows him a stronger control over machines. While cyberpathy is a two way communication, where he can 'ask' the machine to do the things he wants it to do or it can communicate back with him and tell him what it wants, technopathy gives him more direct control and power over it. Again, he needs to be touching the machine physically for his power to work at this point
Electric Manipulation
Finally, Ayato has the most basic of electric manipulation. He is not able to create electricity where none already exists - he can only work with electricity that is already there, but he can cause small surges in extra power or disable power completely with just a touch. Yet again, he must physically be touching the electrical source, be it a machine or a wire or plug, in order to use this ability.

Appearance:
Ayato is average in height, and what can only be described as 'scrawny' in build. He has always had a fast metabolism, meaning no matter what he eats, he just doesn't seem to gain much weight - lucky for him, considering his love for unhealthy food. He is finally starting to develop a bit of muscle tone now that he is getting older, but not very much, and it has been a relatively recent development. His skin is very, very pale, nearly white, contrasting sharply with his dark hair and eyes.
On that note, Ayato has dark, almond shaped eyes and black hair. His hair is long for the most part, though it is nearly completely shaved on the left side of his head, while hanging quite loosely on the right. He always keeps the rest of his hair pulled up in a high, messy pony tail, only his long fringe sometimes obscuring his features. Because Ayato didn't attend any sort of schooling before Ashford and instead lived on his own, he has already taken a lot of steps towards modifying his appearance - one can find people willing to do things even to minors if one knows the right dark corners to look in. Thus, he has a large number of black ink tattoos, mostly tribal in design. They cover both of his arms, a lot of his chest and back, and even his neck. Finally, he also has countless earrings, a lip ring, and an eyebrow piercing.
He tends to dress monochrome only, with black and white outfits when he is not in his school uniform. He prefers any sort of clothing that shows off his tattoo, so often wears tank tops and the like or other low cut and sleeveless tops. Ayato wears his uniform as messily and haphazardly as he can get away with. He keeps his finger and toenails black.
Overall, Ayato has an unforgettable appearance that makes him stand out from the crowd, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Personality
Overall Personality:
Much like his appearance, Ayato had an intense and strong personality as well. First and foremost, he cares about himself, and thinks quite highly of himself in general too. This makes him behave quite arrogantly, and he does not take criticism very well. He is very easily insulted and offended, and it is easy to make him angry - though a word of warning, he may respond violently to you if you do this to him. He likes being successful at things that he does, and when he is not quickly good at something, he becomes very frustrated and react in one of two ways. He will either give up completely and never try again, or he will become hardened, determined, and bitter until he is able to find the success he desires. It's unpredictable which reaction he will have.
Ayato is definitely an extrovert and enjoys the company of other people. He loves all the pleasures of the flesh and firmly believes life is too short to not enjoy it and have fun whenever possible. He can make conversation with nearly anyone about anything, and can usually make even more quiet and shy people open up to him if he doesn't scare them away first. Ayato makes a point of spending as much time with other people as he can, and is happiest when he is talking and others are listening. Big groups or one on one, he just doesn't want to be alone. Thus, he likes having a lot of friends, but is not always good at maintaining any sort of relationship for very long as he quickly will just move on to the next person. On the flip side, he does not like when people give him the same, forgettable treatment. The only exceptions he has ever made thus far are for his siblings.
Having powers that deal with electronics and electricity means that Ayato loves technology and anything that has to do with that. He can often be found listening to music, playing video games, messing with computers, hacking, building things - basically anything that plugs in it something he really likes. He doesn't like being away from technology at all either, and because he enjoys his powers so much, it makes him feel vulnerable to be outside or away from them for very long. And he hates feeling vulnerable, wanting to always be able to rely on himself rather than other people. Ayato has many weaknesses, but he cannot see them himself, and certainly does not want anyone else seeing them.

History:
Ayato was born in one of the world's biggest electronics and technological centres - Tokyo, Japan. However, from a young age his powers began to emerge, and with parents that did not understand their son's strange and uncontrollable abilities with electronics and electricity, they decided their only option was to flee. Thus when Ayato was only five years old, and with two year old twin siblings, the Kisaragi family left Japan without telling anyone and moved to Southeast Asia - Cambodia, to be specific. There, they stayed in a small village for much of Ayato's childhood, away from modern technology and even electricity as much as possible. However, the parents that had been in a clean, modern city their entire lives did not adapt well to the new lifestyle, and at 11 years old Ayato found himself alone with his brother and sister who were now relaying on him completely.
Leaving the village behind, the children moved to Phnom Penh in hopes of surviving on the streets, which they were able to do only through Ayato's determination, quick thinking, and sharp tongue. Back in an urban setting, Ayato's powers began to emerge again, and though he had little control over them he was able to use them on occasion to help the small, struggling family survive. And the more he did so, the more reliant on his powers he became, and the more ambitious he was to become better at them. No one else seemed to be able to do the things that he did, and Ayato loved being unique. Between his powers and his charming personality, despite being young Ayato was able to make great use of the large underground crime network of Phnom Penh, and though it was not an ideal lifestyle, Momo and Tomo had enough food to eat, and Ayato generally had the freedom he desired to have. And there was something just so sweet about undermining authority on a daily basis, and this was only his first taste of that....
....and just when Ayato was enjoying life again, everything changed. He had been becoming less and less subtle with the use of his powers, and his appearance became more and more distinctive. And people noticed. That was when Ashford came - in the night, finding their small, dirty flat in the slums of the city, and Ayato found himself torn away from what remained of his family and the life he had been building and taken away to Ashford Academy. He was already 16 and had to start school in 11th grade but his 'captors' did not seem to mind. Angry at having everything taken away from him and even more angry at being put into any sort of institution, Ayato has done nothing but fight back ever since coming about a year ago. He never had second thoughts about joining the Battlefront either, and while he may not be physically very threatening, his street smarts and ability to survive are still useful skills.
And in the meantime, if he has to be stuck at the school, he can perfect his powers so that they will become even stronger....

Orion was nothing if not extremely observant - after all, with his rash decision making and dangerous lifestyle and profession, he certainly would not still be alive if he wasn't. And thus when the young lady answered him, he noted that little slip of her accent with only slightly narrowed eyes to betray he had heard anything at all. Orlesian. She was Orlesian, or at least had clearly grown up there. How curious. Even more curious was the fact that she was trying to hide her accent - hide her past, hide her identity, something like that, that was the only reason anyone went through such an effort. After all, Orion let his Antivan accent be heard by everyone because he didn't have anything to hide about it. But this awkward, dangerous girl, there was something more to her. How intriguing indeed.
And then she was blushing a bit again, stammering a bit oddly about how she wasn't a good judge of if someone was doing well with flirting with her, and Orion couldn't help but grin at her struggle. It was a bit strange, and he wasn't used to this sort of reaction, but he didn't mind it either. Actually, it was a bit amusing, and made the game quite fun. Just how far could he push this girl before she left or slapped him or something? Might as well find out. "Really?" he responded in feigned surprise, eyebrows raised, "You must be joking. How can it be that no one ever flirts with a face like yours? I find that very hard to believe." On one hand, he was certainly exaggerating to see how she would react, but on the other, he was genuinely surprised. If she spent much time in places like the Hanged Man, which apparently she did since she knew the barkeep, it would be odd if men were not approaching her and saying all manner of things.
Unless she was just genuinely oblivious. What an existence.
She did seem genuinely troubled by whatever it was she had done in the room there at the tavern before meeting Orion; it was clear from her words, her expression, her tone, everything. Orion wasn't one for comfort though, especially to a stranger no matter what the reward might have been, so he simply shrugged. "You made a mistake trusting someone - that's part of the risk of doing that, I guess," he replied quite casually, taking another sip of his own drink - it somehow tasted better because she had bought it, "but it sounds like you dealt with it yourself in the end, so there is no sense in dwelling on it. It's over, finished. You can't change what happened - all you can do is not let it happen again." Orion's own life philosophy showing on the surface in plain speech a bit, a rare sight indeed. It was how he operated, how he made all of his decisions, never dwelling on the past or consequences, simply moving forward and tackling problems as they happened. He wasn't much of one for giving advice or anything though, so he stopped there.
Ahhhh the 'rewards' of friendship, well, there was always that. Those rewards came in many forms, some more rewarding than others. An eyebrow raised curiously in her direction, Orion couldn't help but wonder just what sort of benefits had come from her friendship with the man she had killed, but alas, those were details he would probably never know. But maybe that was for the better, since she didn't seem the type to be doing what the Crow found most interesting, so he would just leave it to his inner mind theatre to imagine what he wanted, and leave it at that.
Orion laughed dryly when the girl said that gold couldn't buy anything, turning to lean his back against the counter of the bar with his elbows propped up behind him, his stance confident, casual. "I beg to differ, mi'lady," he finally replied, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye, "There has yet to be a thing that I have wanted that gold cannot buy. Drink. Food. New armour. New blades. Boys. Girls. Gold is what makes the world turn, princess, whether you want to admit it or not." With that, he grabbed his drink from behind him and downed the rest of it, putting the tankard back onto the counter heavily. He somehow doubted she would like his answer but he didn't really care much about that. Perhaps she was too naive to see the world through his eyes, but maybe he would get the chance to teach her a lesson or two about it. If only he could be so lucky...
