Basics
Name: Yukari Hanazawa
Nicknames: Nanashi (Current used name)
Age: 17
Birthday: October 13th
Grade: 10th
Power:
- Blade Construction:
Her power allows her to form and create blades in her hands out of thin air. They are all constructed from her own energy and consume her stamina. The durability, effectiveness, and the amount of energy it takes for her to create a weapon depend on how familiar she is with the blade she is trying to give physical form to. Her weapon of choice is her personal katana, as it is was her first link to her past. It is a 5-foot steel blade with a black and purple butterfly motif engraved into its tsuba and sheath. On its sheath the word "Nanashi" is engraved. When the weapons she constructs break, they disperse into small crystalline fragments before disappearing.- Danger Sense:
She can detect the general direction and distance of a hazard within a 6-foot radius around her using this power. Her Danger Sense is voluntary, meaning she can decide whether to activate it or keep it inactive at will. It only detects objects moving, functioning, or in a condition that will end up causing her harm. There is a morbid twist in her danger sense. Once a fatal hazard gets within her radius, it flashes an image in her mind. The image shows her the worse case scenario of her death if she does not do anything to stop it from happening. The grisly and sudden nature of the images put extreme stress on her mind. However, it may give her very important information if she is able to think clearly and analyze the image given to her within that split second.- Quick Time Action:
Member Group: Neutral
Canon or not: Non-Canon
Appearance: Yukari is a very youthful woman, standing 165cm (5'5") and with a normally gleeful expression. She has an average build toned through regular training. However, her skin and hair are very well maintained as she is quite conscious about how she looks. She has long purple hair and large purple eyes. Her eyes change to an eerie blue glow through activating her danger sense. Her movements and gestures are usually somewhat childish in nature and she seems to always be lost in her own daydreams and thoughts.
Her usual clothes when not in uniform consist of a sleeveless short purple dress with detached sleeves, purple thighhighs, and sandals. She wears her hair in twintails with round ornaments. Her most important piece of clothing, however, is her favorite rabbit hood jacket. It is black with purple accents on the outside and purple on the inside with long rabbit ears attached onto its hood. Even when she's wearing something different from her usual clothing or when she's wearing her uniform, she always wears the hoodie over it.
Personality
Overall Personality: Yukari seems like there's several sides to herself. She can become completely different depending on certain situations. Around others, she acts as if her mind is completely in the clouds. Often getting lost in her own thoughts, she can even forget what a conversation she's in is about once she starts rambling. Despite this, there is still a strange sense of mystery with her. She always seems to always quickly revert to being happy, as if she is able to quickly push any negative emotion past. She treats everyone as a friend until she finds something she doesn't like about them.
In battle, she seems to turn into a completely different person. She is very disciplined and possesses a sense of honor when fighting. Her fighting is a more passive style that focuses on letting the enemy make the first move and then following up in her own. Her sense of focus deepens and she almost finds pleasure when she gets to mess around with her enemy a bit.
It is almost like she treats it like a fun match between two people. However, she does fear death. Because of the nature of her powers, she hates using her Danger Sense and tries to rely on her own skills with her blade, as she finds it more than enough to keep her alive in normal battle.
When alone, she acts a bit melancholic. Not knowing much about her past puts her at a point that she questions many things that happen around her in life. Sometimes, she finds all the questions and thoughts to be overwhelming to the point of driving her to tears. Her solution to overcome those feelings became her trying to make friends with as many people as possible, as someone eventually at some point will know something about her past self before she woke up without her memories. This is a bit dangerous for her, as she easily puts her trust and belief in others. She made a promise to herself, however, that any link she finds to her past, she will protect with her life. Because of this, she became obsessed with the idea of fate and chance encounters, making her more willing to take the risk.

History
Family Members/guardians:
- Mother:
Aoi Hanazawa (Deceased) - A shamed member married into the Nameless' family tree, she hid Yukari in order to allow her to live a normal childhood and a normal life. After finding out about her husband's link to the syndicate, she kept her maiden name and fled back to Japan with her child. Her efforts were in vain as she was eventually found by the syndicate, killed, and had Yukari inevitably taken away from her.
- Father:
Blake Jones (Unknown) - The branch of her family line connected to the Syndicate of the Nameless, her mother was unfortunately married to him and was welcomed into the syndicate's circle unknowingly upon Yukari's birth. At first, his wife tolerated his violent outbursts and hints of unfaithfulness. Eventually, his wife took Yukari away and he never saw them again. However, he has already chosen Yukari to become his family's candidate for the syndicate's battle royale.
- The Syndicate of the Nameless:
A rather small faction based in the United States, it kept its limited member size because of the fact that most of its successors to leadership have suffered from unstable mental conditions. This gave the faction a high mortality rate from infighting, fratricide, and unsound decisions. They usually carry out requests from other higher syndicates, ranging from heists to killing contracts. A faction with a heavy emphasis on their anonymity, their motto is "Live without a name, die without a name."
History:
It was a long plane trip back to her homeland of Japan. However, the very young and innocent Yukari enjoyed every second that she spent with her mother. What her mother said to her, was that they were simply moving because of some disagreements with her family in America. According to her mother, she should not see her father anymore.
As her mother originally planned to go to America in pursuit of a more extravagant life, they had almost nothing to return to. They lived in a run-down apartment, living with the bare minimum. However, as long as Yukari maintained her innocence, her mother was happy. The only worry she had was what she called the "Blood of the Oni" that she could have inherited from her father. Because of this, her mother kept repeating a mantra for her.
"You have a name. You have a choice. The evil inside you does not exist."
They lived a peaceful life, with Yukari enrolling and attending elementary school and acting like the happy, and normal child that her mother has always wanted. However, peace can only last so long as the worst thing that her mother could ever imagine happened all in the span of a week.
One day, her mother learned that Yukari was hiding a lot of inner turmoil. She was being picked on in school everyday. The way her mother found out, however, was not the best. Called by people that called themselves police about an incident in the elementary school, she rushed to see Yukari standing in the playground with a twisted smile on her face. Her uniform was stained in dirt and blood. Around her were the limp, blood-covered bodies of what seemed to be classmates who picked a fight with her.
Knowing that Yukari inherited the insanity that plagued her father, her mother began to panic. As she looked at the police, they did not look to be from the area. A chilling realization overcame her mother as one of the "police" brought out a gun and shot her mother multiple times. One of them walked towards Yukari and spoke to her gently.
"Welcome... Welcome to your true home."
--------------------------------------------------------------
Years past and Yukari now resided in America. She was taught about the Syndicate of the Nameless. Welcomed into their family as one of their descendants, she was also informed that her father enrolled her into the battle royale that will decide who will lead the family next. What happened throughout the years past was training her in combat and the ways to lead the organization. She seemed to be a natural with the use of a katana. However, she was the underdog of the battle, as she was the youngest and smallest candidate.
The day of the battle finally came. With their weapons of choice, they were all gathered inside a large underground coliseum. With absolute murderous intent, they had to fend for their own lives. As if the leader of the Nameless cannot even defend themselves, they will not become worthy. In a long, tedious process, Yukari and one other exasperated candidate was left. The other being much larger and physically stronger than her, she was battered to the point of near death. However, that was what completely changed everything.
Before the large man dealt the final blow to finish her off, her eyes seemed to glow a different hue. As if she predicted exactly what he was going to do, she ducked under and cleanly thrust her blade into his heart. The pained expression of surprise and agony was pleasing in her eyes. As she drew the blade from his now lifeless body, she was declared the new leader of the Nameless. As a memento, "ๅ็กใ (Nanashi)" was carved into her blade's sheath. It will become a nameless blade that will always be by her side to kill and command. To her, it was a partner both in body and soul.
--------------------------------------------
Yukari's reign in the syndicate came with huge obstacles. As she was the youngest to have ever claimed leadership, she was not trusted by her subordinates. Often, the others believed that she would bring forth the downfall of their organization. Despite that, she generally did well. Though her choices were brash and reckless, she always followed through with them and imposed an image of fear on their enemies. Symbolized by her glowing eyes, some have even compared her to a demon.
However, her rule was short-lived. Eventually, subordinates who questioned her leadership as mortality rates in the organization began to skyrocket both from overly reckless attempts and fratricide due to Yukari's sick desire for murder, decided that she was going too far. They felt like they were all fodder, that those glowing demon eyes were always watching, and nothing can be hidden from behind her back. Tricking her into a room as if to make a deal, they locked her in and knocked her out with gas.
Days went on as the members who have lost brothers and sisters from her reign took turns torturing her and beating her up to sate their anger and grief. Eventually, they decided to finally take her life in a fitting execution. Beaten and without her sword beside her, she was thrown into the woods an given a headstart to run. Then, they sent hungry dogs after her.
Every passing moment felt like an eternity for her, as the gleaming eyes of the hounds hunted the scent of her blood. She began to fear the image of death, as when she was close to being attacked, her powers flashed her grisly images of her body being devoured by the hounds. Of course, her powers helped her fend them off. However, her mind began to slowly deteriorate.
Hiding within a cold, empty cave, she began to feel tears run down her face as she let out a desperate laugh of defeat. Closing her eyes, she began to remember a mantra given to her by someone from a past that seemed like an entirely different world to her.
"You have a name. You have a choice. The evil inside you does not exist."
She began to frantically repeat it, hoping that those words will take the pain and fear away. As she began to lose consciousness from cold and hunger, she felt a sudden jolt hit her head once she fell to the cave floor.
----------------------------------------------------------------
There was a bright light that woke the girl up. It was the warming rays of the sun. Everywhere, there were white walls, white curtains, and she was covered in white sheets. Her head felt empty, as if she had been asleep for a very long time. There was an envelope sitting beside her on a table. She was in a hospital, it seemed. As for the reason why, she had no idea. Taking the envelope, it revealed a letter: an invitation.
It said that she was gifted with a special power. Because of that, she was requested to board a ferry to a place where she will be with those with fates similar to her. She will be in a place where she will become accepted and understood. Reading the letter seemed to make her feel a sense of relief in her chest, as if she had the strongest urge to follow what it said.
The nurse entered the room, seeing that she woke up. Giving her back the clean clothes that she seemed so familiar with, she was tested to see if she had fully recovered yet. With a warm smile, the nurse told her that she was free to leave the hospital if she wished. Grabbing the envelope and changing into her hood, she made her way for the door.
Still, her mind felt like an empty void. She began to run and run away, not even knowing if she was going to the route where the ferry was waiting.
"I need to know... I need to find answers... This is too painful, too empty..."
She then chose to stay in the city, to at least try and find a lead before venturing to the place she was invited to.
--------------------------------------------
Her search began. It did not take long until she instinctively walked back to the headquarters of the syndicate that betrayed her. She knocked on their door and what met her was not a welcoming expression, but a look of fear. The man's face was pale white, as if he had seen a ghost. People began to bust out from out of nowhere, holding different weapons and speaking amongst each other. She kept on hearing the name "Nanashi".
Suddenly, they began to attack. As she saw them coming, she felt a painful headache as images start to flash in her head. Scared for her life, she screamed and felt something seem to appear in her hands. Instinctively, she moved. A wet and warm feeling splashed on her face as she opened her eyes. She had just stabbed one of the men with a katana. The others seemed to stop, run away, and disappear. They shouted.
"It's a ghost! She's back to kill us!"
Confused and afraid, she ran away. As she sat down in an alley, she grasped the blade in her hand. She saw a familiar word engraved into its sheath. Caressing it with her hand, the blade seemed so familiar to her. As she held the blade close to her, it disintegrated into small pieces.
"Nanashi... that must be my name."
--------------------------------------------------------
After the next few weeks of exploring, she was welcomed into the strangest place she could think of. As she entered, the screams and applause drowned out any other sound as she saw an arena where people seemed to fight. She began to feel a sharp pain in her head as she processed that information. As the roar of the crowd began to overwhelm her, she came back to her senses as she saw what was possibly her best chance of discovering something about herself.
A young boy was in the heat of battle. His skills with a sword were impeccable. She began to be drawn by his skills with a blade. Unknown to her that what she was watching was part of an illegal ring, she began to follow and cheer for the young swordsman and his partner from within the crowd. One day, her belief of him being a link to her past was solidified in what seemed to be a fight that him and his partner would have lost. Out of nowhere, the boy seemed to pull out several swords to circle around him. The swords flew towards his opponent and he claimed victory. The crowd fell silent as they began to boo him. They seemed to be in utter disbelief. That sight, however, seemed like an absolute wonder for her as she found someone with a similar power to hers.
Eventually, the boy and the girl disappeared from the fighting ring. Thinking that it was all she could do within the mainland, she boarded the ferry the very next day. Knowing that the boy had powers, she just knew that she would find him in the island. With hope and determined that she will meet him in person one day, she gave the supervisor her invitation as he then welcomed her. Asking her about her name, she simply smiled at him.
"My associates call me Nanashi. It's a pleasure to meet you~"
