Basics
Name: Marceline Lee
Nicknames: Marce/Marcey
Age: 15
Birthday: March 9th
Grade: 9th
Power:
Art Animation: The ability to create a living or non-living thing out of art. This is the only ability that Marce has at the moment, but with her, it comes with a price. This power gives her the ability to bring her own sketches to life, as long as they are drawn by hand and not sculpted or crafted. The can be drawn in dirt, sand, mud, and even scratched into wood or stone. As long as the drawing is realistic, as that can be hard to do on wood or stone, it will work. It is even said that masters of the skill are able to create without using up their source, like paper or rock. It takes a lot of practice to do that, and it is rare, whereas beginners use up the whole paper to make something turn into reality from the page. For one, the person must have already be able to draw the object well, so in tough situations, it can be hard to create something they have never drawn before. It is rare, but some artists will find themselves drawn to a certain thing to draw, in Marce's case, birds. She is attracted by their wide color and size base, making them fascinating to her.
But there is a deformity that comes with her power, and it is unknown if it was caused by genes or simply a rare chance. Marceline has been gaining attributes of birds the more she creates. Whether it be a feather here and there, she fears it it getting worse.
Member Group: Neutral
Canon or not: Nope
Appearance: Marceline is rather short, and it is only fitting that resting on her head is a large mop of red hair. Depending on her current moods, the hair length differs from time to time, but for now, she's kept it at a short cut. She wears it in two small pigtails toward the bottom of her head, but her hair spills over them anyways. Her face is short and pointy, her hair framing it perfectly. Her expression is usually one of curiosity and daring, and her wide eyes only further her wonder filled mind, always a bright green. Her body is short and thin, a normal look for a girl her age, and her arms are short and round, contrasting her long fingers and thin hands. She is about 5' 3, around 110 pounds, again, normal. She is no wimp when it comes to strength, but she is not strong looking either.
As for her normal attire, she never minds, as log as it's sturdy and in one piece, and it never matters if it's dirty or not. But, look close enough, and you will see that this young girl has feathers scattered in her hair. She does a good job of hiding them, but if you amazing eyesight, or catch her with her hair down, you might just see them.
Personality
Overall Personality: Marceline is quite the arrogant one, her remarks are loud and rude, often annoying to most. To be honest, she only acts this way when the she has the support of her friends around her, otherwise, she is just quiet and rude, a different rude, the kind that is half-hearted and lonely. This girl has a strong trust in people, especially true friends. She depends on friendship to survive, and she is basically putting her own life in their hands, trusting them to take care of it. Her actions vary from who she is with, and she always strives to gain a friend and satisfy them. For example, Marceline is with a smart and cool-headed girl, then she will often act smart and try to be cool as well, often breaking character to find consent from their companions. Her whole being is purpose is to find people she can care and be with without not being herself, but she often tries too hard to to do this, losing herself along the way. Around the people she trusts the most, she is really herself, that being enthusiastic and obviously caring for them all.
Marce's mind is always filled with wonder, always dreaming an thinking about things like what it would be like to live as a bird, or how the people outside the academy live, without powers. This being said, Marceline's still not the smartest gal. It often takes a long time for her to understand someone, and it always frustrates her to no end, and beware her moods during these times, for she's ten times more snappy and rude then usual. Don't put it past her that she might zone out during your conversations, or even attempt to look like she knows what your talking about. She will eventually figure it out, and by then, she's back to her loud and enthusiastic self. Things like that often make her hyper and more spontaneous during her drawings. She created a tiny flamingo like that once.
Birds. It's safe to say that Marceline is obsessed with birds. Before arriving at the school, the closest she could get to the animal was watching them through a window, but now, she sees them all over the academy. Sometimes, when she sees the other gifted children that are able to communicate with birds, or sometimes look like them, she has no shame with staring. Of course, her stare isn't mean, it is simple filled with pure child emotions, like awe and complete love. It is though her entire day is brightened just by being able to meet people like that, though often her gestures are seen as rude or terrifying as she attempts to inspect their power. She has one rule for herself as she does this, she never, ever will intentionally hurt a bird.
After using her power, she has begun to find feather here and there, and for one time in her life, she is truly terrified as they begin to spread the more she use her powers.

History: At a young age, Marceline lived with her family in a small town that she doesn't remember to this day. A fine family, not dysfunctional or perfect, just a regular mother, father and brother was there for Marce. The one thing she does remember is how her brother, Finn, would stay in his room for weeks at a time. No matter how much begging him to com play, talk, even just come out from Marcey would bring the young man to his senses. The two being home-schooled it wasn't much of a deal for him to e in his room, but for this long, it was. When the fact was brought to her parents, they would just look away, almost if ignoring the question all together, like they understood. Soon, even they grew worried.
It was around that time when it happened. Marceline was about seven, just beginning to do things for herself around the house, and had quite a bit of freedom for her age. Her parents let her explore her options, bringing books for her to read and played music for her to listen to. But they always kept her away from creativity. Drawing, painting, making things were all off limits, and little Marce didn't like it, she had almost felt drawn to these things, but was kept are from them. It was only natural that in the times her parents weren't home, her brother was deep in his isolation, and all her books were getting too boring, did she find the one window in her home that faced the forest. She would watch them for hours, the birds. Their color varied from browns to blacks, sometimes sporting a bright red just like her own hair. It fascinated her to no end, the little girl who had never seen much art or bright colors expressed the way they were when they flew through the air. She found herself watching them every single time her mother and father were out, and it was during this time Finn acted upon what he had been planning.
In one afternoon, Finn snatched up his dear sister and took her away in the night. He had seldom spoken, only pausing to tell her that their parents were keeping them from something, something big. It was only Marceline's confusion that kept her going as they slipped away, never seeing her own parents again.
At the age of ten did they really get a stable home. Her brother didn't shut himself off anymore, and they maintained a good paycheck and nice apartment. Growing up, Marce had a wide variety of animals, she observed how they were just attracted to her own brother, but it never bothered her. She soon was able to draw again, finding a strong passion to, and soon found herself practicing every day to replicate the birds she had seen every day in her old home. She had asked her brother about the place for a long time, and he never gave her a proper answer. Not long after she properly knew how to draw did she find out about her power. She tried to ignore it, ignoring how the closer she got to making the drawing look more real, the more it seemed to peel right off the page. One afternoon, the page folded up completely, a bird starting circling her own room. In a fit of terror, she ran to her brother, asking for help. He shrugged it off with his smile, just saying it was a gift.
It wasn't until she turned fourteen did he tell her about the school. And how he was going to send her away. Away from the only family she had known, other then the ones who he had taken her from. It took quite a few days to calm down, not even taking into consideration that she was supposed to enter the school a year ago, how her brother held off as long as he could.
She still writes to him every day.

The sound of footsteps grew closer around the door that lead out into the hallway. Her body tensing as she tried to control her ragged breaths, Marceline slammed her eyes closed, face squished up against her own pillow. The pillow was lumping and suffocating, contrasting from her soft bed. Her hand clenched the sheet unintentionally, her breathing labored as she struggled for the little air her pillow allowed. If she was discovered, it wouldn't end very well for her. He was always strict like that. The sound of a door creaking open sent her entire being into an uncontrolled shaking as she tried her best to stay still. A sigh echoed through the silence of her room, and she knew she had won. The door shut, and gasp was released from the girls mouth as she brought her head up for air.
This had been going on for the last few night, weeks maybe, she couldn't remember the last time she had slept. An angry hiss left her mouth, almost too loud for the completely quiet apartment, but she didn't notice. She hadn't been able to sleep because she spent the time thinking about how her only family was sending her away.Letting an inward groan spread though her body, she let her head fall back onto her pillow with a small 'fump'. This was never going to end, huh? Being separated from her own family?
Her hand stretched out from her side, reaching around blindly for a piece of paper that might be lying on her desk, finally finding a whole stack. Dragging it towards her, she rose into a sitting position before reaching under her pillow for a pencil that she might have under there. Finding one, she let out a tiny sound of success, lifting into the air like a trophy. She soon put pencil to paper, and off she went sketching.
About an hour later, she looked at her drawing, hands shaking from either overworking or terror. The paper had a tiny sketch of a robin, it's chest bursting with an unseen color, and it's lithe body spread out on an unseen branch. So far, she had just finished the details on the upper head of the bird, it's feathers all carefully placed in the correct spots and it's eyes almost shining. Her eyes widened as she looked in terror, the only light in the room coming from an old flashlight she had under her own bed, as the head almost seemed real. Not the kind of real where you are able to draw at that level, but, a true real where you could almost see the head bend off the page, the colors dimly showing. In a fit of horror, Marceline through the drawing across the page, falling back onto her bed, face smooshed back into her pillow once again.
Maybe she really did belong at a school filled with crazies.
