Psychometry

Psychometry allows Maddy to see memories of objects as well as people when he touches said object. He cannot select the memories he sees, and breaking contact will immediately end the flow of memories.

i never did play a memorable prefect, but sin was such a docile bad guy that maddy should be good. not x-men good, just i-want-power good.
Appearance: White hair highlights pale, spends-too-much-time-inside skin. For some, this white-on-white is noticeable in a crowd. For others, it's insignificant and easy to pass by. Toss in silver, alert eyes, and you've got a guy with a serious pigment deficiency. Once in a while you might see a flash of green in those silver eyes- the natural transition of eye color, part physiological, part enviromental, can account for it.

But what he lacks in physical color, he makes up for in emotion and mannerisms. Calm, composed outwardly, but fundamentally mercurial under the surface, this guy is unpredictable. In a crowd, you can take your eyes off him and rest assured that social convention will keep him in line. But if he catches you alone, in the hallway, perhaps, watch your back.

History: Maddox was born on July 1^st to then-twenty-one year old Faith Slain and twenty-two-year old Zeroun Turner. He was the first child of Faith's, but the second child of Zero's. He had one half sister, Joelle, and a step mother, Sarah.

Sarah, the everything-is-about-me mom. Sarah, the don't-you-love-me bundle of insecurity. Life was what she wanted. She had a dotting husband, spoiled daughter, and respectful, duitiful son.

The one that played soccer with Joelle in the yard when they were young, and kept to himself. Who never stole his sister's toys, who defended her to all the neighbor kids, and who never complained to Sarah when Joelle

Joelle's mom was batshit crazy. Granted, the twins weren't the most stable brothers you'd ever meet... They always had a love-hate relationship. And Zero could be a bit... violent. Zero didn't grow out of it. That glare could still chill his brother. That you-know-what's-coming look. That you're-gonna-die promise.

That animonsity- Maddy got that from his daddy.

But Sarah was fucking mental. She was on a spectrum of her own. Maybe that's why Zero acted like Joelle was made of glass. Maybe that's why she was so entitled. Maybe that's why she hated him. Maybe that's why she hated everyone. Maybe that's why she acted like a princess. Maybe that's why no one noticed Maddox.

Maybe that's why Maddy stopped talking. Maybe that's why Maddy grew so independent. Maybe that's why it's him against the world. Maybe that's why Zero left Sarah. Maybe that's why Zero paid his daughter and ex-wife what they asked to keep them out of his life. Maybe that's why he didn't care if they weren't happy. Maybe he knew they'd never be happy.

He wasn't happy, either.

Jericho tried. Faith tried. Even Amy and Keil did their best. But Zero Turner couldn't reverse the course his life had taken. None of them could.

Let's face it.

We knew it wasn't going to end well. Suicides, pre-teen pregnancies, marriages... The group was born and raised away from family. You can't really fault them for that, can you?

They were surrounded by angsty teenagers. They gave "mental health" a whole new meaning. None of them were really ready to be parents. None of them were ready for life. Amethyst Liberty Chase probably came the closest. She was always maternal, wasn't she? And, of course, Keil tried.

Didn't he always?

People pleaser that he was, he tried so hard. In the end, they all did their best. Like we knew they would. But it wasn't enough for Maddy. Zero and Jericho raised Maddox jointly with Faith and Kurt. It wasn't an ideal family, but Faith didn't need Zero's misery. And she had her own problems. She always had been a free spirit. Besides, Maddy needed his daddy. Prince, her brother, and her weren't a family. And she'd always loved Zero, flaws and all.

Anyway, Maddy wound up gifted, and off to Ashford he went.
