"I remember tears streaming down your face,"
Parvana was sitting at her desk, enjoying the irony surrounding it. She sat at the back of the class, right next to the window. The view was so beautiful – the courtyard just in her view. It wasn’t busy at the time, considering most classes were going at the moment. She didn’t have the guts to skip class herself to enjoy the day, so here she was in math class sitting in the back of the class next to window. Next to window and in the back of the class – it felt so nice to repeat it in her mind. As she had thought before, it was quite ironic that she had gotten this seat of all of them in the class. In all the animes that she had watched, the main character always seemed to be in this exact seat, staring outside as they dozed off. She found it ironic because she never thought of herself as a ‘main character’. She always thought she had been part of the supporting cast – an element of the story that could easily be wiped out if needed.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a shadow fall over herself, and she looked up towards the thing – finding her teacher standing over her. The look on her face cause small shivers to go down the girl’s spine – a look of disappointment. In her hand was the last test they had taken, folded downward. She knew what this meant. Teachers always seemed to hide the grades when things went downhill, and they proudly flaunted it when you got a good grade. Parvana seemed to pause, staying at the piece of paper before the teacher had cleared her throat. The little girl let out a long sigh, silently shaking as she took the paper from the teacher’s hand. The second she had received the paper, she smashed the sheet of paper facedown into the desk. She let out a grunt, not even daring to look at it herself in fear of disappointment.
Slowly, her gaze shifted to the right of her. There sat the most annoying boy on the planet, and she was the one stuck with him in class. His name was Scott, and she only stood him for the fact that, well, she was too anti-social to talk to anyone else. Besides that fact, he hung around Smith too, so you could say they were friends because of their friends. Although she had strong feelings for the boy, she would never ever admit that she secretly enjoyed his spontaneous nature and the fact that he could actually keep a conversation going. In fact, you could say she was a bit jealous of him.
She took a deep breath before whispering to him, “Pssst, Scott. Hey Scott. What did you get on the test? I knew I failed because, you know, Math, but I guess I did worse than I actually thought.” She leaned over towards him, doing her best not to fall off the chair as she did so. Parvana hoped that she actually got his attention, knowing that this boy seemed to be everywhere at once. She knew he probably got a better score than she did, but maybe she could pull it off like she was the better one - maybe. She wouldn't loose - not to Scott.
