Basics
Name: Kiara Hunt
Nicknames: Ki (“Kee”)
Age: 17
Birthday: 4/23/1998
Grade: 12th
Power: Echolocation, Calling Bats, and Sonic Scream
Her echolocation works the same as seeing would work. As long as she is emitting the high frequencies, she can "see" movement and any obstacles in her way. She cannot technically see, but this allows her to be an adept fighter and an active member of school.
Calling bats is just another frequency she emits. Changing the call can bring bat friends to her side. She can control how many and which bats appear, as she knows them by their personalities and feel. These frequencies don't affect her strength, as it is the equivalent of talking.
Sonic scream, however, does tire her out. She can change the strength and frequency of the scream to hurt others around her. She has the capability to deafen temporarily, done to her parents multiple times. She can also induce headaches by the frequency, but keeping it up for a long time tires Ki out, the same as screaming would tire a normal person.
Member Group: Neutral
Canon or not: Non-Canon
Appearance: Elegant skin the color of light cream is flawless, save for the occasional pimple, of course. Her silver hair cascades down her shoulders, rarely kept out of her face. Her eyes are a silvery gray, milky if you look closely. Kiara has a slim build, not much in the way of curves, and her legs are pigeon-toed and wobbly. The young adult is almost all corners, her elbows and knees taking the brunt of any altercations with the pavement.
Ki has a button nose and a small smile she awards her friends with at times. Her fingernails are bit to the bed, and her lips are chapped no matter what season it is. Despite these flaws, she takes great pride in her fashion, and her ears are pierced to her liking, studs and jewels hanging delicately. Overall, Kiara takes great pride in her appearance, kept together for the most part.

History
Family Members/guardians: Her mother and father sent her away as soon as they could. They loved her but were afraid of her powers.
History: Born a beautiful baby girl, Kiara led a normal life until middle school. A blow to the head during recess knocked her to the ground, sending her into a coma. While out, a gene that had previously been recessed emerged, turning her blind. When she awoke a few weeks later, she found her new powers of echolocation. Her parents thought she was telling stories of how she got around while blind, but soon believed her when she did things no blind person should be able to do.
Homeschooled from middle school to Tenth grade, Ki longed to be with kids her own age. She learned quickly, soon done with high school curriculum and interested in college. Her overprotective parents refused to allow her to go to college, afraid of people finding out about Kiara’s powers. She broke free one day, running into the town. Unable to find her way in the confusing crowds, she was later found in an alley by her father, who returned her to her home.
Fed up with her unruly behavior, her parents sent her away to somewhere they didn't have to care for her. Unable to comprehend the betrayal, Kiara was brokenhearted until she realized she'd be with people of her own kind. Ever the optimist, Kiara was happy to be sent away, and still keeps in touch with her mother and father on occasion.

RP Sample: Giggling to herself, the female apprentice stepped in the berries, enjoying the squishing noises they made. They made the ground turn a bright myriad of shades of blues and reds, along with her legs and paws. Her mother and father looked on with amusement as their daughter played with the berries, lobbing the occasional fruit her way. Her playtime was interrupted by her mentor returning from he patrol, his face a mix of bewilderment and approval. Bounding forward, the large warrior splashed in the berries, covering the surrounding cats in sticky juices, laughing with his apprentice.
___
"Lovely night," she murmured, soft padding noises heard against the smooth pebbles. They clicked against one another as she passed, falling into places she had previously stepped. The tom beside her nodded in agreement, his tail twining with her own as their flanks touched. The moon caressed the two cats' bodies, turning the she-cat silver and the tom a light grey. Her usually black coat shimmered in the night light, glossy fur ruffling in the slight breeze. The wind brought the scent of the sea, and gulls called in the midst of crashing waves. Just as she turned to look at her lover, a dark space replaced the male as the image ran from her eyes like sand through her paws. The watercolor effect rippled so that the moon was no longer circular and the stars blended together. The she-cat stirred in her nest, heart pounding with the dream, wishing she hadn't woken up. She sighed, watching her cloud of breath dissipate into the night, shivering with cold. She didn't share her nest with a cat, and her den was far more lonely than she cared to think about. Laying her had back down on the soft moss, the young female closed her eyes, willing the dream to return. She could almost hear the sea already.
