Power
Geokinesis
As you might guess, this is general manipulation of the natural materials found on Earth. The ability lets Jack control rock telekinetically, but only as long as he is close to whatever he is trying to control. Anything within about ten feet from the young adult's body is easy for him to use his unnatural power on, but does require focus and for him to strain his mental energy. Anything beyond that small radius will force a painfully strenuous feeling across the user's body that will result in physical injury. Something just outside of the range may cause minor cuts, but the damage will become more severe the longer he attempts to seize control of something. That damage is also heightened the farther away the object is. The size of any thing he is trying to move is irrelevant to his mental strain, however, if something is so big it exceeds his power's range then its side effects will begin to activate in regard to how far out of range the object protrudes. The way to get around this side effect is by splitting the rock into smaller pieces. It also becomes increasingly difficult for Jack to control any mass of matter the more that it is structurally unstable. Something like sands, that are many different small objects, proves to be very difficult for the geokinetic user to use effectively because he has a hard time controlling more than about ten things at a time. That being said, he can mold things into one object. The larger the singular rock he is trying to form the materials into, the more time it takes to make. Picture that smooth quartz is in his hand, it would have taken him about ten seconds to construct it into that from sand, then longer to make it smooth, and then impossible if he was lacking in concentration. If Jack lost his focus while he was manipulating the materials, it is possible they would be structurally torn apart by imploding, forcing him to start the process over again.
Consciousness Manipulation
Consciousness Manipulation is the means of controlling awakeness, focus, and the strength of bodily sensations. It is notably weaker when used on the others rather than the user, having hardly any effect at all unless the user is practically touching the one it is being used on. The main use of this power has almost always been the user altering his own consciousness, and it has not developed incredibly as a power to use on anyone else. The most that could be done with the said power when in use with another person is making them feel tired, unable to focus, or having dulled/overly excited bodily senses. Forcing someone's mind to overexert itself is something else that may occur if this ability is used too much, including the user. In conjunction with that, it may be possible to put someone else to sleep if they are already mentally worn. When being used on himself, however, the effects of Consciousness Manipulation are stronger. Jaxton can force himself into an awakened state for a period of time to ignore the draining effects of his powers in exchange for feeling them at a greater expense a short time later, or he can make himself sleep in order to recuperate. He could also force his brain to focus on a single task. This will make it easier to solve problems by entirely disregarding other distractions, though will make him entirely vulnerable in combat if he has more than one opponent. And lastly, he can greatly enhance, and decrease, his own bodily sensations. While he cannot fully remove any of his senses, it will make it easier to handle the injuries his powers leave him with when overused. Once again, that will only push the effects out of his mind so that he may feel them later. Just like his ability to control rock telekinetically, this power gains strength the closer he is to whatever he is trying to use it on, however the radius of this power's effectiveness is much smaller. Jack would need to be inches away from touching someone in order to use it in any effective manner. This is the other reason that he is able to use the power most effectively on himself, and normally does not use it on anyone else. He dislikes that it requires for him to be so close to others, and would rather not use it combatively because of how unaware of his self harm it may make him. The mentally draining sensation, the physical injury, and the necessity of focus, all work the same way as well. What happens when he loses focus is very different from geokinesis, of course. If he were trying to use this power when he lost focus, Jaxton may find anyone of this power’s effects at its maximum(Example: He had a panic attack while trying to use this power, it put him in a coma.).
Dream Walking
Stepping into the dreams of others, being able to control the way that dreamscape dimensions work, and being able to appear as a projected image in the waking world, this is a power that Jaxton tends to have trouble with using. This power can only be activated through sleep, and cannot be used any other way. Dream walking prevents the user from being able to gain mental rest if his mind is at work using it. His mind constantly being at work is the reason Jaxton may look somewhat older than he should, but is the reason that he does not have a lot of energy. The only way that he could actually 'sleep' is if he avoids entering someone else's dream. Whenever the user is within any dream, he can freely control everything there as though he is God of that realm. This ability can also be used if someone has put him in a trance, and he can reform whatever reverie he has been put into. He cannot in any way do anything about illusions that do not put him in a sleep-like state. Though he can control what goes on in dreams, this power does not allow him to affect others physically, however, Jaxton's body will show signs of the events of what happens in that realm in reality. If he were to have a gash on his arm, it would appear as a small cut in the real world. If he went through strenuous activity, his body would show signs of growth from it. Possibly as the power’s own self defense mechanism, Jaxton cannot alter his body during this time. Though he is a deep sleeper, certain side effects of the power may wake him up. For Jaxton to be able to walk into someone else's reverie, he must normally form a gateway in his own, and be within the range of a mile from the select person while they are also asleep. While it is possible to find himself in those places through accidents, it is usually done when he has a mental image of his fellow dreamer, and some kind of doorway to lead to them, when he tries to find them. Opening doors in general may cause him to find someone else unexpectedly. This is the side of the power that will prevent the user from gaining rest with him noticing.
The other side of this power allows him to enter a sort of illusory state for reality to see. This side of Dream Walking allows him to project a floating form of himself that can be seen, and speak, while he is asleep. His consciousness is projected into this form as though that is where his mind is. The way that projection looks is that of however the user may appear at that time, accesories included. He also appears to have a slight white glow, and is somewhat transparent. Though the range of this power is very large because of his time spent in his coma, the further away from his physical body the dream walker attempts to project his image, the more it fades through white transparency. This form can be easily compared to an astral projection, or confused with some kind of ghost, since everything physical phases through it with ease. When in this form, the user still lacks all ability to reform any kind of illusory powers that are affecting him. During the use of this ability, it is possible to interrupt it by waking him up from sleep.

Appearance
Obviously a bit older than most of his classmates, and a bit chubby in his appearance, Jaxton looks different than most of the students at Ashford. His appearance is mostly non threatening both because of how nervous he seems to be whenever he is with anyone, and he does not seem like he would be able to hurt anyone even if he was angry. The body of the student itself is not exactly fat, but he is overweight. That being said, his nearly six foot tall body is surprisingly resilient when under physical stress. That is possibly due to him trying to grow used to using his physically harmful powers. Related to his family instead of his powers, his hair is a colorful brownish-red that he gained from his Scottish parents. He makes a strong point to keep his hair very well-kept. While he is certain he could grow a masculine thick beard, Jaxton prefers to keep himself clean-shaven. Thanks to that it is easy enough to tell the shape of his jaw, and he appears to have a face that is moderately pronounced as well as aged somewhat beyond what it should be. That would be thanks to the growth alterations he is forced upon from his dreams, and the hard time he has getting his mind to rest.
His style of dress is very casual, and lacks the uniqueness that he believes the students around him seem to have. Normally Jaxton's outfit includes cargo shorts, a T-shirt with a button-up shirt over it, and sandals. These are what the young man will usually be seen dressed in, and there is only a couple of changes ever made to the norm. If worse comes to worse, then he can form something to wear out of rock. Aside from clothes, his only accessories may be a watch, and sometimes a baseball cap. Granted he does not wear the hat often because he feels it gets in the way of the hair that he believes looks just so good. Formal wear is not a common thing to see the student in, since he does not like going to the events that require them. That being said, he does have a nice suit to wear for special times.
As a Dream Walker, however, Jack has many different appearances. Of all the different fantasy outfits he goes through in his reveries, there are obvious favorites. An attire similar to that of an armored knight with a prominently green and gray color scheme is one, and another is a sort of magician dressed in shining robes. There many more possibilities for the young man to explore by changing his appearance, but he always prefers to have a human-like form in fear he will make himself look inhuman in the real world. He most often prefers to keep his face as it does in reality, but with a more-so muscular body. Reason being, he is aware of the effects his powers have on him and hopes that they will slow down any muscle deterioration.
Personality
[/b]-
Positive:
Jaxton is someone who cannot help himself from staying aware of his surroundings. He has a habit of always looking around the room the walks into, paying attention to the noises around him, and constantly checking his surroundings; More of a nervous habit than anything else. It also helps that his power over controlling his own bodily sensations can make him hyper aware of sounds and such. When it comes to people, on the other hand, he tries to pay attention to what they say and do.
* Cautious-
Seeing as how this student is no fool, he will use his awareness to keep himself out of any danger as best as he can. The young man’s powers may work some wonders, but they can only do so much before they take their toll. His powers are strong, but he can easily kill himself if he uses them excessively. Because of this, he is careful not to put himself alone with anyone he feels threatened by, not to go too far from the school, and will certainly avoid picking fights. The last thing he wants is to wind up with a bloodied nose, or to wind up as a bloodied corpse.
* Meticulous-
Even though he had been held back from school for a time, he has been able to keep up relatively well with what he missed for a reason. He hates having to do something more than once, or to mess up, so he does whatever he can to avoid mistakes. Mistakes are something Jaxton feels he cannot afford to make on this island. That which is the reason he dedicated quite a bit of time to understanding his powers, and figuring out what his limits are, before catching up on his schooling first.
* Has conviction-
Despite constantly second guessing himself, Jaxton does have a strong will. Giving up himself is something that the young man will never do. He has conviction to move forward with his life. As mentioned before, he has had issues with himself, but he has also obtained the courage to move past those. The last thing he will do is let himself be conquered by his own faults, and has instead chosen to try his luck at conquering them. He is not one to go down without a fight.
* Loyal-
While this could also be a weakness of his, it is not see as one by him. Loyalty is something the young man craves, so when someone earns it he will not let go of it. The young man feels it is a necessity to have someone you can trust in a place like Ashford. He does not forget kindness shown to him, and will always try to find some way to repay for it. It may cost him time, or effort, but he does not see any problem with that if it can keep a definite friend by his side.
* Experienced with powers-
Probably the only trait that most students are concerned with. This student has powers that he can use with ease, and are markedly dangerous in combat. Because of the need for self defense on this island, Jaxton found it necessary to train them to the best of his abilities. Granted his powers are far from Godly, or fully developed, it should be known that he can certainly hold his own in a fight using his gifts when he is forced into one. This would be a concern if he had any interest in murder, or could use them without being so dangerous to himself.[/ul]
Negative:
Despite being someone who can think a situation through to make it work out in the best way, as well as someone who will make the decision to avoid doing something completely stupid, Jaxton is not difficult to manipulate. While it may be easy to get him do what you want, that does not mean he is unaware of the negativity of the things he may be doing. The young adult goes through with things he does not approve of because most of the students at Ashford are frighteningly unpredictable. A little bit of trouble is much better than getting murdered, after all.
* Anxious-
A fear heightened by all of the screwed up things he has had to deal with in his life. Before discovering his powers, the anxiety that the young man found himself feeling so often had been mostly manageable. Nowadays Jaxton often finds himself over exaggerating about the issues he has. The malicious students with powers were dangerous, when he aged out there were so many horrible rumors about what would happen to him, and then his powers often left him too drained to defend himself. When he thinks too much about these problems, or if someone shoved his past mistakes into his face, it would slowly force him into a breakdown.
*Liar-
A guard against showing his inner feelings. Lying is nothing more than the young man's attempt to keep people from thinking less of him, because of how anxious he gets over just that. The knowledge that there are students at the school who will start fights just because of saying the wrong thing causes him to play just a little nicer around others. He believes he needs to keep others on his side while at this school, at least long enough for him to survive.
* Emotional-
In all honesty, this is not hard to define. This student gets passionate about everything he does. He prefers things only needing to be done once, and has a variety of emotions that will surface if something goes wrong. He is prone to getting angry, depressed, and happy, but tends to hold on to emotions towards others. He holds grudges. He remembers friends.
* Pessimistic-
Or as he likes to call it, realistic. The student is not one to expect the best of things to happen to himself, or anyone for that matter. Perhaps if his life had gone better, this wouldn't be such an issue. Jaxton has grown to dislike the conflict he creates with his pessimism, however, and will avoid showing it to others. Because he also believes that ignorance is bliss, he will often lie to make others see things differently. Faking that the best is yet to come is better than telling how awful something will be in most cases anyways.
* Cannot use his powers while stressed-
Because his powers require focus, surprises can cause his powers to "freak out". It can be compared to muscles tensing whenever one is scared, or to pushing a doctor who is using a scalpel during surgery. His powers may go haywire for a moment, causing something like the ground to crumble, or for him to lose one his senses momentarily. It is entirely possible for one his powers to affect others during this time. If something were to happen to Jaxton while he was controlling rock, it would implode. If he were trying to impair someone's awareness, it may create an opposite effect.
* Unathletic-
Rather self explanatory, honestly. Jaxton is overweight, and does not last long when under elongated muscle stress. If forced to use his powers outside of their small zones, then this flaw will be made obvious since his powers strain him physically.

History

Donavon Godfrey, God father/uncle
Lindsay Godfrey, biological mother
History
The life of Jaxton had potential to be fairly normal until the time of his coma, with a few exceptions. This is mostly related to his family. His mother died after child birth, and the original father had left the late Lindsay when he heard of her pregnancy. However, the brother of the late mother, Donavon, took it upon himself to raise his nephew alone. He named his new son what his sister had said she wanted him to be called, but also gifted him with her name in remembrance of her. From that point onwards, Jaxton was raised by his Godfather in Texas. Despite being brought up by someone with a heavy accent, Jaxton never quite picked it up. Instead the boy picked up the Texan accent of the ones he met in daycares and school.
Maybe because of having only one parent to look after him as a kid, young Godfrey was unable to feel entirely fulfilled as a kid. He distanced himself from others in school because he often felt like they had something he was missing. Granted Donovan did not know the exact nature of his problems, he wanted to be able to help with whatever they were. There were all sorts of attempts that he made to try getting closer to his son. Taking him to parks, playing video games, watching movies, these are all things that Jaxton remembers fondly of his father. Needless to say, they worked. A socially awkward child trying to ask his father why other kids had mothers when he did not was difficult, but the young man still remembers how that situation played out. How his father tried to console him by telling him that his mother died so that she could give life, but that the original father left before that ever happened.
"But aren't you my dad?" Donovan started crying when he heard that.
After having aged some, Jaxton may have been twelve years old, he started asking his father more about what his work was like. Well, he asked before then, but it was around this time that Donovan responded by teaching his son about some parts of his job as a physical therapist that would be more similar to training his boy to become one himself. And, of course, the kid showed interest in learning how to work as one. Granted the lessons that were taught were not heavily complicated things about the body, they were just basic things about the muscles, and how to ease out some stress that were often given to them. Still, something about helping others like this, a way that might be so small, it seemed like something that could be easy enough for him. Jaxton did not have much confidence in his own abilities, but being taught basic therapeutic techniques gave him something he felt like he could do right. This presented an issue to work around, however. The issue he had with his lessons were related to practicing his technique on others. The issue about clicked in his mind that made the young masseuse nervous whenever he approached anyone he did not know. So, in a situation where Donavon would attempt to show his son how give a proper massage, Jaxton would find himself too nervous to do anything properly. Of course, his father tried helping the attempt to overcome this problem. At least they got to the point where Jaxton could interact with others without becoming stressed out.
Any obvious signs of unnatural powers were not present until the time Jaxton was about fourteen, and they were what forced him into his comatose state. His dreamwalking had always been active, but his consciousness manipulation, as well as geokinesis, came much more suddenly. Neighbors, and his father, could talk about seeing the boy in their dreams from time to time, but why would they have any reason not to view that as a weird coincidence? It was about the time of high school when his powers became apparent. Sometimes when he would have talk to in front of class, The floor may start to feel like it was lightly shaking. If someone frightening would go to shake his hand, they may start feeling oddly dizzy. When Jaxton found enough confidence to ask someone out, the young lovers could not help feeling so tired when they kissed.
He had been around fifteen when he initially figured out his powers. The teenager had been walking towards the door to his when he tripped onto the concrete driveway. Hands were put forward as a reflex, and the concrete cracked while sinking into the ground. About an hour later when his father came home, he asked Jaxton if he knew if superman hit the ground outside. Because he had no idea how to talk about it, he simply said... “The heck are you talkin’ ‘bout?” ...and left Donavon quietly concerned. The newly found gift was tested that night when the gifted boy himself went back outside to try figuring out what the hell had happened. Just like he shoved the concrete down, he tried doing that thing in cartoons where they say you just have to focus on what you want to do in order to do it. After a lot of swearing, Jaxton figured out how to control his power.
He could not say how they found out, but a nearly sixteen year old Jaxton came home to find some kind of agent in his living room telling him that he had a “gift”. Apparently this gift could be dangerous if not properly taken care of because they were stronger than the teenager had been aware of. “Not only that, but there are some that you may have previously been unaware of.” Because of this, the agent was going to take Jaxton away to a school called ‘Ashford’ where he could learn to control this abilities with others like him. Donavon refused the offer, however, stating that it was shady as fuck that someone they had never met wanted to take away a teenage boy to a distant island. The agent informed them that she had not been asking. The details become incredibly fuzzy around this point. Supposedly there had been a fight between the two gifted that Jaxton had come out of physically unscathed, but one of the previously unknown powers went off during the fight. Both combatants were comatose. He would figure out much later that Donavon had hit the agent’s head with a lamp to knock her out, and then drove both of the unconscious super humans to the hospital.
Donavon had been in the hospital room when another agent approached him about his son. This time there was no way to avoid it, the father could not protect his son from whatever was going to happen to him now. Not that he could have the first time, but now he knew he could not. All he could do was hope that Jaxton would wake up from what had been done to him, and that he could come home someday. About a year later, his wish would be granted. Because of his third, and final, power, the young man found himself walking through the halls of whatever medical facility he had been taken to. Because of his Dream Walking form keeping whoever the hell it was in charge of taking care of Jaxton interested, they kept him alive until he finally woke up. During the recovery process from the coma, the victim became very depressed, as well as paranoid, over his situation. A higher up must have decided it would be best for their specimen to find some comfort, because they let him call his father more than a few times.
And about a year of recovery later, a nineteen year old Godfrey had finally been officially inducted into the Ashford program.
