Scoffing a little at her over-exaggerated 'super-duper'ness Zane made a show of rolling his eyes, "Okay, maybe it's not that clean, but I don't think there's anything on the floor. Then again who knows, maybe you really will bow down in respect and all that." Looking away, he actually realized there was one thing that he would have to put away. The Recorder. He'd already logged in his description about his first meeting with Bridget, the first part he didn't particularly care if she heard but the last part, after the long pause was his confession about how he yearned for another. He knew now that wasn't going to happen, but still, if she heard that she might distance herself until finally never talking to him again.. Even without a chance he'd rather be close to Bridget than never seeing her again.
Damn, even to himself he sounded like some lovestruck idiot... wait a second.. 'Fine, fine, whatever.' Since it couldn't hurt anymore Zane went ahead and admitted it himself that he did indeed like the girl sitting before him yet far out of reach. Her sarcastic attitude drove him insane, her teasing frustrated him to no end, she had a weird fear of water, her rage-filled words were more painful than any physical wound, and she had an odd hat fetish. Yet.. he still sat there clutching her hand to keep them together.
Zane blinked a few times, feeling confused at the question since he was acting on Bridget's emotions "Uhm.. Nothing much, just ah.. wondering which day I shall be introduced to each and every one of your hats in your room.." The response was a little difficult to form around the confusion and he almost added 'I think' to the end, but he managed. He couldn't falter now. At least she didn't act like she knew the extent of how he felt for her so she wouldn't shy away. The ruse may be a little shaky but he'd hold it up if he could. Smiling wasn't going to be so easy with confusion so he simply grinned uneasily and shrugged.
"Oh, that." he chuckled nervously, "My big sister would always lead me around by the hand, tugging in the direction that she wanted me to go. It's been years since then but I guess I never forgot." Had he ever mentioned to her that he had a sister? hmm.. no, now that he thought about it he hadn't. She'd told him a few things about her family so he supposed it only fair to let her know a few things about his. If she asked, that is. It'd have to be pretty specific too. The fact that he'd killed his mother when he was born wasn't really something he offered casually into a conversation.
Going with the flow Zane copied the pouting Bridget and flicked the brim, "It's totally fair. Plus I need something to bargain with, I'm starting to get hungry." It would have been hilarious if his stomach would have growled right then, but also, that only happened in movies like so many other things. He wasn't really that hungry anyway, just a tiny bit from all that went on. Guys tended to eat when depressed like girls as well. Emotions could be covered but cravings were a different story.
