The first day of school was always fun. Especially when said school was full of people who had some sort of power that could potentially wipe out large cities if left unchecked. As if that wasn't bad enough, there was apparently some sort of war going on within the academy itself...news that didn't really please the girl. At first, she was happy to finally be away from her parents, even if the circumstances of her leaving them were less than ideal. But she was beginning to wonder if this was going to be a mixed blessing...all she could do right now was try to steer clear of the fighting as much as possible.

Of course, having arrived only a few hours ago, she didn't have a whole lot to do. She was told her stuff would be sent to her room eventually, so, for the moment, she was doing the only thing she could think of to kills some time. Wander aimlessly. If nothing else, Misaki figured she'd try and get a good idea of where everything was before whatever she'd be doing here would start. At least this part of the Academy seemed nice...she had a feeling she'd be spending a lot of her free time here.

Melody stretched herself as he dug her claws into a tree. Yes, she had claws, but only temporarily. She could use an ability called animal mimicry, which allowed her to form the traits of any existant and known animal. So claws, wings, fangs, horns, you name it, she may have it. Although doing all this made Melody very hungry. Each formation made her hungry enough to down a thanksgiving feast almost. It's funny because there have even been the brave few people who would ask if she was pregnant. She had to be held back.

"I'm so huuuuungryyyy!" She whined aloud to herself. She looked around and was ready to raid the cafeteria when she saw a new girl walking around. Ooohh!! A friend! She thought as she watched the girl before running over. "Hey there! I'm Melody, what's your name?" She asked cheerfully and with as much excitement as a kid on Christmas. It was just a usual thing for Melody to be very friendly.

Misaki was actually in the middle of debating on where she should go next around the time that Melody noticed her. As much as she was beginning to like this part of the school, she knew she wasn't going to be able to stay here forever. Of course, she was definitely going to be coming back later. She had only been at the school for a few hours, as this was already one of her favorite spots. Letting out a soft sigh, she got ready to leave...until someone approached her in a rather cheerful manner.

Misaki's face turned slightly red as she got a good look at the one who had come up to her. She wasn't used to others coming up from seemingly out of nowhere just to talk to her...let alone in such a friendly and energetic manner. As such, she was a bit nervous...yet a little happy at the same time. "Ah...h-hello. Um...my name...is M-Misaki. Nice to meet you..."

"Oh! What a pretty name! I like your hair too!" She said delightedly as she looked the girl over. She looked up at her with another cheery smile. "Why are you out here alone anyways? You should go meet people! Just not my Honey-bumpkins, Ren! He's mine! Well, in my mind anyways, but he doesn't seem to actually like me back as I do him. Oh well!" She said with a grin. Mel was the definition of optimism. Seriously.

"Would you want me to show you around?! It would be super funner than wandering out here! We can go eat in the cafeteria! I'm so hungry right now. I can also let you meet Ren, but you can't touch him if I do." Melody continued to ramble about various things, surely Misaki would end up going crazy soon enough.

Melody jumped up and down happily, her miniscule frame making her look like a small child. Five feet and one inch was not really ideal for Melody, but she could live with it. She looked around and ran off after a bunny for a bit, eventually coming back after she had no luck in catching the rabbit. "Bunnies are so super fast! I still want to try and catch one though!" She mentioned her dream of catching the wild lagomorphs.

This girl was...interesting. Truth be hold, Misaki wasn't entirely sure what to think of her. She seemed nice enough, of course, but she felt slightly overwhelmed by how...hyper she was. At the same time, this was probably the first time she's had an actual conversation with anyone. She had a rather miserable upbringing, which made it hard for Misaki to open up to others...though it certainly wasn't from a lack of trying. Still...she wasn't expecting her first potential friend to be like this.

She blushed brightly from the compliments, but before she could thank her for it, Melody went on to talk about the boy she liked, and Misaki's mood darkened a bit. Misaki was afraid of men. Deep down, she knew they weren't all bad. But after enduring years of increasingly-harsh bullying, all of which was done by boys in her class, it would be hard for anyone to blame her for being uneasy around them. The fact that her parents practically went out of their way to not give a damn about it didn't help either. As such, she chose not to say anything regarding that.

Instead, she decided to accept her offer of showing her around "Th-that would be nice...I...I only just got here, so I don't know where anything is..." Misaki took a moment to get a good look at her...she was short, and rather cute. Misaki was actually taller than her, but only by an inch. Though, she seemed a lot more energetic than Misaki...especially when she randomly ran off to chase after a rabbit...only to return a moment later. The only reason Misaki was still there was because she was too dumbfounded to actually do anything. "I...I see...a-anyways...um...the cafeteria sounds good...I am kinda hungry..."

"Yay!" Melody exclaimed happily at the girl's acceptance to join her for a meal. "The food here is good, but it would be better if it was more filling." She explained about how the food was good and plentiful. Melody needed a good meal anyways, especially since she used her powers.

"So what can you do? Err... I mean what are your powers anyways? I can reconstruct my body to mimic the different traits of various animals. It's really fun, but I get super super duper hungry afterwards, then I almost eat a whole thanksgiving dinner." Might as well say so before the girl figured otherwise at her voracious eating.

Melody took the other girl's hand in hers and headed off with the girl in tow. "The cafeteria is really big! So many people are there. I acually think my Honey-bumpkins is there! Oooh! I can't wait to see him. We are gonna share a big big plate of spaghetti!" She said cheerily. Mel was an obvious optimist, maybe too optimistic, but optimistic in the least.
