" McCoy announced, glancing up from the recently gathered pile of fresh, bright green leaves and various branches that he was still trying to produce fire from. Instead of being greeted by the short haired fifteen year old with the quiet laugh, he saw... well, no one. His grey eyes, holding as much intensity as ever as his brow furrowed with concentration, swept the surroundings, catching beautiful detail of the section of the forest he was in in mere seconds. But no girl."Genius takes time.
"Uhm... Lilith? Lil... ith... Malixi...?" came skeptical, quiet questions, not meant to be answered, but spoken aloud none the less. If she was close enough, he wouldn't need her to be responding to him to locate her. And if she'd gotten away from him for a reason, perhaps she wouldn't want to answer. He hadn't said much to her, so offending her wasn't likely, but, perhaps he'd managed it.
'Owww! ... no, please don't run away, froggy!' came the quiet voice. It was hard to hear by virtue of volume and apparent distance, but McCoy doubted there was any chance someone hadn't just said that. He was up in an instant, running in her direction. It probably would have struck him as odd that his mind picked up on details and reacted accordingly, like to the branch that just stuck out, or the hole from the animal burrowing deep into the dirt, or the... assembly of ants, which he also avoided. Fortunately this did not occur to him as he ran through the forest. His breathing occurred to him, though, as an indication of the distance and speed he was going.
"Lilith!" This time it was a yell. This time she was supposed to hear. A quiet voice, apparently straining to be louder, chimed back with, 'I'm here, Nash.'. Indeed, she had wandered farther than he expected. And his running to get all the way to her would have been worth it, too It was worth it when he burst through the trees, expecting a bear or something, only to find there was no such thing. Just Lilith, lying on her stomach in the dirt, with a sluggish looking frog that'd hopped out of her reach. Not exactly the dire situation he expected...[/blockquote][/blockquote]
