The numerous helicopters fell to the ground, just as the shadows began to take over the island. The engines on all the helicopters suddenly stopped, as if cut off by an unknown force. That force was none other than Calista.

A woman stepped off the helicopters, tall, in her early 30s with hay-colored hair. She wore all black, and made a face of disgust as she stepped onto the island.

"This place is just overflowing with those...things..." She said, making a face. Those impurities. They were inhuman, unholy. This woman was one of the people behind all this, Ms. Penelope Benton, a government agent.

"Ugh, we spent so much government money on this place...we should have just locked them up in prison, if you ask me." Penelope knew her orders, it was to capture any rogue gifted. Though, the blonde anti-gifted had other plans.

"Kill any gifted you find." She ordered, while waiting for her other two commanders. "We'll just say that girl they sent us to capture did it and it was all we could do to escape." She said with a cruel smile. The government agents poured out of the military style helicopters, their mission was clear. Have no mercy.

Kazuma sat at his desk with pen in hand. He usually sat deep into the night working on specific pieces that he had been working on for nights on end. But this night, his mind drifted away from his work.

Looking at himself in the mirror he saw a small trace of dark rings around his eyes. Were they signs that his body was finally starting to give in after all these restless nights? Were they simply shadows from the faint light overhead? Or were they visible marks of what the environment of this school was doing to him. He hadn't made any "friends" for a reason. As he looked around him, there was constant hatred and fear passing through the eyes of every second of the day. Students that were so far gone they believed that the world was against them, students that have been demented by these walls that surrounded them and even students that have lost precious things while trapped here. Would he be able to go through a few more years here? Or would he turn into one of them. Devoid of emotion or afraid to step up and make something of their time here.

He shook his head free of such deep thought, knowing that dwelling on it was admitting something was happening to him. He touched his pen down to the pad of paper attempting to work more on the page that he was sketching when he heard something out of place. The thundering chops of a helicopter coming ever so closer. He raised an eyebrow wondering what exactly the government could want at a time like this.

Just then he heard a slight rap on his door. Tilting his head he walked over to the solid wood portal and just as he reached for the stainless steel handle a fist came through the slabs of wood, splintering and showering his face in debris as a body came barreling through his dorm door plowing into him. He flew back a few feet and then rolled back up into a ready position to get a good assessment of what exactly he was dealing with.

Standing a good six and a half feet was a man in riot gear with electric knuckles and knives galore adorning his vestments. Tilting his head Kazu let his oversized solid steel pens slide down from their sleeve and rest gingerly into his palms as he wrapped his fingers around them, relishing in the cool feeling he got from gripping the metal.

The man rushed him with a sweeping right hook, as someone versed in hand to hand combat such as Kazuma the swing was easily ducked and a few swift mid-punchs into the rib-cage with the pens he felt the perfectly placed attackes break the ribs that they connected with as the man doubled over the artist swiftly brought a knee into the mans nose pushing down on his head to add the unneeded extra force to the blow then pushing the mans face straight down into the ground with a dull thud.

Reaching out to the side he grabbed his jacket, which was littered with rolled up papers and scrolls, and threw it on calmly stepping out of his dorm into the hallways. The sound of batteries against wood filled the hallways accompanied with the bone chilling screams of male and females alike. Government agents were littering the halls dragging students violently and trying to line them up against a wall for a execution.

Kazuma let out a slow even breathe and inhaled quickly as he launched himself forward dashing towards the fray that lay infront of him to aide those in need. He looked around and noticed a few fellow Prefects scattered around the halls. He had to find a way to rally them if they had a chance to fight back successfully. "Fellow Prefects! Rally on me, lets take this fight to these cowards!" he voiced loudly making eye-contact with a few of the students individually. Now....to see if any of them followed his lead. Perhaps he could make something of himself here after all. He reached into his pocket and withdrew a scroll grabbing one end then just beginning to unfurl it to unleash what he had been holding back all this time.

Om was immersed in his own thoughts, while sitting on the stairs in front of dorms and smoking. The days were boring and there was nothing to do. His knives were rusting in his pockets. He wanted to fight. Not just any ordinary fight, but an exciting one. This was a gifted academy right? So there should be people wanting to show off their strength. But there was none that Om could find.

Should he quit the battle front and join prefects? That way at the very least, he would have many opportunities to beat the battle front members. But he didn’t want to stoop as low as to become a servant of the government. He looked around…. not a single soul. Maybe he should return back to his room.

Just then, the cigar in his mouth started vibrating and so did the windows nearby. He could clearly hear the helicopters roaring at a distant. Did the new students arrive? No it couldn’t be. His gut told him it was something else. Something much more interesting. A smile spread on his face. He jumped of the stairs and made his way outside.

”Look what the cat dragged in…. it’s my long lost brothers”, he exclaimed. His smile was getting more and more sadistic now. The cowards that put him in this place had finally shown up. Now he couldn’t let this opportunity slip, could he? He ran towards the crowd. Now the other students had also started to emerge from their rooms.

He was lucky this time. He barely moved about ten feet when he found a Government dog waiting for him with a handgun aimed straight for his head. ”Stop where you are ,or I will shoot “, he warned.
”With that?”, Om asked pointing towards the little handgun mocking the agent. He calmly lighted another one of his cigars, and put the lighter back in his pocket, while the government agent stared at him surprised. This obviously pissed off the agent.

”On second thought, I think I will shoot even if you do stop”, said the agent gritting his teeth. He fired his first shot but in vain. Om’s super-fast reflexes made it easy for him to dodge the bullet. Before the agent could fire another shot, a knife flew straight at him stabbing his hand. The gun fell on the ground. The agent made an attempt to reach the gun with his second hand, but he was too late. Om was already in front of him grabbing his neck with one of his hands and lifting him.

”You had your turn right? Now let the kids have theirs….”. , laughed Om. The agent looked at Om with terrified eyes. Those eyes proved Om that there was nothing new left in that guy’s arsenal.
”You are not worth killing…. You are not even worthy of my knife”, said Om with a bored look, pulling out his knife from the agent’s arm as the agent cried in pain. He threw the injured agents body aside and walked towards the crowd hoping to find stronger opponents.

Fluke Jazzlyn stood in the courtyard facing his target once more, the same as every day. As normal while training he wore only a loose white shirt and grey jeans, not even a fedora on his head nor clips in his hair. He was serious. Determined. His training had began to pay off, he wasn't just a weakling anymore. He could hold his own like any other student here. A smile danced across his lips as he drew a pen from his pocket, it's form changing to that of a kunai as he took aim and....

Was that thunder? He paused and looked up, watching the sky turned black. But it seemed different than a normal storm. Had this been the chill that he had felt for the last month? As he listened harder he realized it wasn't thunder, but the rumbling of helicopter blades. What was going on?
Before he had the chance to consider his options the cracking sound of a gun rang in his ears, making him duck and cover his head. A hole exploded in the tree behind him. He'd been shot at!
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw two armored men each wielding a pistol, the second man's gun was already aimed at fluke.

Instinct took over and within moments he took action. In one liquid movement he had drawn another pen and transformed it into a kunai, keeping the flow going he stood and spun throwing the two kunai in his hand just as the crack of the gun rang out. Each kunai hit their mark, striking both the men in the neck. The once place they had no armor.
For a second joy overwhelmed him. He had done it! He wasn't weak! But then the pain registered in his mind and he dropped to one knee in surprise, the bullet had hit him in the thigh. He had never been shot before. Yet oddly the fact that the bullet felt super hot surprised him more than the pain, who would've known?

He staid in a crouch and grit his teeth, withdrawing two more pens. All he could do now was sit and wait for them to come to him.

Ah the courtyard, full of grass, trees, and the rare midnight fight. Yes this place was perfect for Rex, such blissful violence he could get into here. He loved this courtyard so much, that he moved out of his cramped, uncomfortable dorm, and has been sleeping out here on trees senses he's got here. Of course sense he's got here, the number of midnight victims has increased, but in his...They woke him up.

So while Rex was busy doing the only thing he does better than fight, a loud thundering sound came from overhead. At first it wasn't loud enough to wake the heavy sleep, but a few gun shots fixed that. Rex opened his eyes quickly once the shots were fired, and quickly sat up, on his branch, his guard raised to the max...However there was nothing. The gunshots must have been from somewhere far off, because there was no indication that any bullets came anyway near Rex. Still the thought that people were shooting off guns worried him. Mix that worry, with the sight of helicopters over head, and it was no wonder Rex was quickly climbing down the tree to see what the problem was, however the problem had already came to him.

Once Rex reached ground level once more, he was meeted with a flash of light in his face. The two men behind the blinding light, to what Rex could tell, looked to be two beefed up men however the light kept Rex from seeing there faces, gear, and weapons. "Whoo, we found one! Maybe well get a raise if we force him to tell us where we can find more of those little bastards!" One of the guard said with glee in his voice, as they got closer and closer to Rex.

Rex, hearing what the male said, quickly decided to distance himself from the men. Now he wasn't just running away, with the new distance he could see the men better, without the blinding light, and boy did he see them. The two men were packing some major stuff, something only the army should have! Along with that the two seemed to be decently armored up, so much that even Rexs punch could pierce it in one go. Whoever these guys were, they weren't messing around, and Rex seemed to be there first target, which they proved by firing off a couple of rounds at him.

Now it wasn't until one of the shots nicked the side of Rexs cheek, that he got truly angry with the damn cop like bastards. I mean first of all they woke him up from a pretty decent dream, and now they were shooting up all his favorite trees trying to hit him! He wasn't goanna have it any longer. Rex looked around quickly for an item to use to his advantage, and found a nice tall tree to drop on em. Rex jumped forward with a great amount of moment, and struck the bottom of the tree causing it to cave in, allowing the massive wait to timber over the weaker side. Falling on to one of the men. Kind of a hypocrite move, trust me I know.

The other male made it out just barely, however while he was nearly pissing his pants, and backing away from his knocked out partner, Rex easily made his way behind him, and slammed him into the ground. The male would lay there bleeding, as the last thing he saw was Rex running towards the sound of gunshots, before he passed out cold.

"What the..." Arizen watched as a shadow fell all over the island, followed by numerous helicopters landing on the ground. He hid behind a pillar as numerous hordes of men walked out of those helicopters. I wonder what could be going on here, for military-style dudes to show up... Suddenly, screaming. He heard voices of both girls and guys screaming all around him. What... What is this?! Another person screamed really close to him, before collapsing right next to him. "There's another one! You know what to do!"

Arizen turned to find 3 agents surrounding him. "Well, well. What do we have here? I suppose you guys won't take brofists?" One of the agents held up a pistol. Just before he was able to shoot, Arizen knocked the gun off his hands with a swift upper kick. Smiling, he then proceeded to trip the agent with a sweeping kick to the shins.

The other agents readied their guns, but a quick burst of small flames from each of Arizen's hands was enough to knock their weapons out of their hands, burning them in the process. He fired another shot at the third agent's gun as well. Now they would have to fight close-up.

"Come on now, If you're gonna fight at least fight fair!" he exclaimed before rushing forward. He delivered a swift jump-kick to the head of one of them, sweep-kicked another and delivered a swift kick to the third agent's neck as he tried to attack from behind. One agent down, two more to go.

"Come on guys! don't let this one little ant throw us off balance!"

With one agent down on his knees clutching his throat, only two more remained. They armed themselves with daggers as Arizen rushed towards them. He faked a left turn and dashed to the right. As the agent attacked with his dagger, Arizen slid past him, ending up behind him. He proceeded to stand on his hands and spin with his legs outstretched, smacking the agent's face with a barrage of kicks as he turned to face Arizen, knocking him out.

"Aaaargh!" He jumped back to his feet to see the other agent coming for him. As the man swung his dagger, he grabbed his armoured hand, set it on fire and let go. If anything, the only effect would be to divert the agent's attention as he delivered a swift roundhouse kick to the face, knocking him out as well. There was only one agent left, as he hadn't technically been knocked out. He managed to get up, but one roundhouse kick to the face later, he was unconscious like the other two. "Strike three."

Deven's bare feet walked through the grass as if he was casually going for a stroll. His hand swinging back and forth as he moved around student both running form the battle and to it. Unaffected by the strange turn of events Deven wasn't paying much attention to the actions occurring around him expect to avoid mindlessly bumping into someone. The horrified screams and sound of battle cries and gunshots feel on deaf ears as the man's indifferent expression stared at his one and only destination. The helicopters and the troops pouring out of them.

As he moved through the panicking crowd Deven felt something crash into his midsection. Lowering his gaze he saw girl no more than thirteen had accidentally ran into him. Tears pouring out of her eyes as she looked up at Deven's own illuminate red orbs. Sobbing she tried to find her voice and say something but wasn't able. Not that was necessary, her eyes said it all. Save me.

Looking up Deven saw the soldier that was chasing her preparing his gun to shoot. Roughly pushing the girl aside Deven raced forward while the man was raising his gun. Ducking under the weapon Deven threw his open hand out and smashed it into the man's neck. Crushing his Adam Apple the black haired teen watched as the older man fell to his knees thinking he would be left alone now that he was down. Only for Deven to ruthlessly snap his neck like a twig. The agent's body feel like a log and made a hollow thump noise.

Then as if nothing happen Deven's stepped over the corpse and left the little girl to fin for herself. Her scream and cries for him to stay ignored as he went on his way. He had just made it tot he middle of the school when he heard a scream for the Prefects to band together. Turning his head he saw the owner of the voice. A male around his age pulling out scroll, and the government agent quickly deduced his power either were along the lines of art or writing. Either way he was unimpressed, but he did have an image to uphold.

"Oi, look out!" Deven shouted as he ran over to intercept a soldier whose gun was aimed at Kazuma's head. The sudden cry caught the marksman attention who was now turning his sight on the approaching Deven. Years of brutal training paid off as the black haired teen moved to the side avoiding the shot, his Prefect badge gleaming in the light from the gun, another blow to a neck and yet another soldier was down. Only for Deven to repeat what he did before. SNAP! That god awful noise filled the air once more before another corpse hit the floor.

A seemly shaken Deven stared down at the body mimicking shock and angst perfectly. From the outside it would seem he deeply regretted taking the man's life but in reality Deven didn't care. "I'm sorry, I had no choice!...He was going to shot you!" He said making his voice waiver as crocodile tears sprung from his eyes. Which he perfectly timed and hurriedly wiped away on his arm. "I thought the government sent us here to protect us...."

Thick, blood-stirring screams that could pierce even the densest walls, could induce shivers in even the most hardened individuals had once plagued the plainly decorated, well-kept dorm. Those screams confessed to the world that a deeply repressed terror, mixed with anger, with a hint of hollowness existed in a person who otherwise was known as a beacon of strength and warmth. The screams no longer reverberated throughout the stony hallways, but they still echoed in the mind of the tall brunette. Though her sore throats were gone, her nightmares were not. Memories of every tragedy that had taken place between those walls plagued the woman particularly heavily that day as she sat on her bed, facing the dorm’s window with her eyes glazed over.

“Miss Monroe.”

“Meredith, it’s me!” Seth Rosa’s arms were wrapped tightly around Meredith, part embrace, part restraint, but the kicks and screams wouldn’t cease. Whatever nightmare had been quietly haunting her had surfaced and would not relent on the grasp that it had on the young woman’s mind. Her frightened shrieks and violent attempts to break free from his protective hold broke the young man’s heart, but he only held tighter, clenching his jaw and holding back his tears until his girlfriend’s hysterics finally subsided into tired whimpers, and he felt her melt into his arms.

“Seth?”

“Meredith. You’re back. Thank God.” Meredith looked the love of her life up and down, noting the several places where his skin was scratched to the point of bleeding, her own hands being the presumable perpetrators. She shook her head and glanced away, her expressive eyes giving away the shame and disappointment in herself that she could not bring herself to voice.

Tragedy had been a cancer, starting with one travesty which led to another until she could barely differentiate between horrible occurrences and everyday life. At first, the harshness of her reality tore away at her innocence, incepting a tiny seed of anger at the world that would only grow, but that stage was long gone. In more recent times, the woman was one tragedy away from a breakdown that would leave her as a version of herself that more closely resembled a frozen tundra than the warm person that the school had come to know. The disappearance of Seth Rosa would be that event. With him gone, nothing in the world could be right, Meredith thought. His love and the way that they needed each other had been the only part of the eighteen-year-old’s life that had kept her going.

“Miss Monroe!”

“Meredith, I need to ask you a question, and you have to tell me the truth.” The grave face and tone with which her love spoke to her deeply concerned the young woman, who immediately looked up with warmth and attentiveness.

“What is it, Seth?” His grave expression did not waver for a second.

“Me or Mr. Darcy?” Suddenly, his serious face was a smirk. Meredith attempted a glare but found herself laughing instead. She picked up a pillow from her bed and tried to whack him over the head, but the lanky and nimble prefect commander dodged the strike by preemptively tackling his lovely second-in-command.

“Miss Monroe!”

“WHAT?” The newly anointed prefect commander turned in annoyance to face the person who had torn her from her flashbacks, the only place where she had seen Seth in the past two weeks. As quickly as she reacted harshly to the disturbance, she realized the person in her room was not at fault and willed herself to be calm. “I’m sorry. What is it?”

“The school is under attack. The prefects need their commander.” Meredith almost replied that Seth had been missing for weeks and then remembered that he was not talking about Seth. He was talking about her, Meredith, the new commander. How strange. Meredith nodded and followed the prefect to the scene of the “attack,” but what she witnessed looked more like a massacre.

“You couldn’t have been a little more urgent in calling me?” Meredith reprimanded sternly, though she knew that nothing the prefect could have said would have prepared her for the sight. Helicopters buzzing above, armor-clad government agents unleashing fire on students without mercy and without reason. The scene didn’t make any sense, but Meredith sensed that there was no time to search for logic. A bulky male agent dropped directly in front of the prefect commander and smirked, pointing in her direction a gun that looked like it had enough firepower to kill an elephant.

“Well, well, if it isn’t Miss Meredith Monroe? You know what I could bring back to headquarters that would earn me some real bragging rights?”

“I’m sure you’d waste more time telling me if I gave you the chance.” The government agent did not get to hear the commander’s snarky retort. In the instant that it would take to blink, she had visualized his red, pulsing heart inside her palm and then squeezed her hand shut, using the anger she felt to induce apoptosis on every cell.

"Beta Team! Take an offensive stance. Healers, remain on defense. Commanders, keep close watch of your teams. We aren't losing anyone today."

A lone white cat ran across what had become a battlefield within a mere few minutes. Heading straight for the helicopters with a Cheshire smile, his small light body allowing him to easily dodge between both students and gov agents.
"That's one of them fools!" He heard someone shout as he ducked threw a group of agents, followed by gunshots. But he was already rocketing off, the bullets thumping into the dirt harmlessly.

As he made it to the helicopters he transformed back into a human and laughed, grabbing hold of one of the heli's landing rails. It lifted into the air effortlessly and within moments he had thrown the large machine at the group he had passed. Trapping three men under it's weight and scattering the rest of the patrol.
He didn't really care about the other students, but odd numbers just weren't fair. Plus, he loved the thought of killing humans.

He raised his hands as pebbles and rocks began to rise around him, shooting off like bullets into the shaken agents and killing two on the spot.
"This is what I was made for, bitches!" He laughed, flipping off the surviving members of the patrol as they fired shots at him. Their bullets bouncing off of an unseen wall harmlessly.

The Night was nice, and the sky was dark. A cold breeze began to flow through the school. a breeze so unexpected it was almost like a sign of bad luck. what was this night going to offer? That was the only thing he could think of. His time here at Ashford has been nice a lot nicer than it would be if he was alone away from others like him.

He was doing his round patrolling school. he had gotten lost though he didn't know where he was right now. Sitting down he pulled out a picture. it was a picture of himself with his parents before the car crash. "It's been so long, but i still dream about you guys." He laughed some as he teared up as well.

"Well there is this girl i like. Her name is Naomi you would love her. Sparky does." Nathan patted a bunny on the head. A bunny that has been with Nathan for as long as he can remember. Standing up he put the picture away, and placed the bunny on his head.

He heard what seemed like helicopters. There is no way though right? Suddenly screams pierced the silent night along with gun shots.

He rushed into the dorm's nearby. Wounded where laying around a full out war has begun in a matter of seconds. "Get out of here be careful though." Talking to students as he kept walking through. The smell of flames, death, gun powder everything was entering his nose.

A government agent stood there. "He..hey are you here to help? why would the gover.." before he could finish he was shot at. Nathan ducked into one of the rooms. He had been shot. in the arm. He groaned, and wrapped a shirt tightly around it to help the bleeding stop. moving his fingers he needed to keep blood flow going like this until he could take the shirt off.

He heard the agent walking closer. Using his power he had all of his sand slither out of his room, and towards him. It would take a while though. another shot exited the agents gun.

Nathan screamed in fear. he backed himself against the wall far away. The man entered the room, and had the gun pointed at Nathan. He didn't look like he wanted to kill a kid, but he had his finger on the trigger still.

Luckily for Nathan his sand showed up. moving his right index finger the sand formed into a spear, and stabbed the agent. The sand also pushed his arm up so that if he shot when he was stabbed it wouldn't hit Nathan.

This wasn't good the government was supposed to protect them not kill them. spiraling the sand around him he ran through the dorms to make sure no one else in here was in danger.

Nathan had no idea what students he was going to run into or when he would run into another agent all he could think of right now was Naomi hopefully she was okay, and helping students as well.

Pulling out his cell phone he dialed Naomi's number. No answer, but then again it's a frigging war zone so he can't expect any different. "Please be okay."

There are moments in life where you must make a choice. A decision that will change everything. Bridget had just made one of those very decisions and she had never been more scared in her life. With the impending doom of losing her sister weighing heavy on her mind Bridget’s feet barely touched the ground as she exited the forest and into a completely different war; a physical one rather than emotional. It didn’t take her long to enter the school grounds once more except she was not expecting what she saw. Sliding to a stop she was nearly hit by a bullet, it gazed her side ever so slightly making just a scratch. Ducking down she hit behind a wall for the time being.

First job: get to the dorms. Taking a breath she faded from site, cloaking sure as well was coming in handy right now. Getting up she planned out the quickest course to get to the dorms. At the moment she was thankful that she was no longer the new girl, that tariffing first week of getting lost at every turn. Now she knew the entire school like the back of her hand, whether that was a good thing was still yet to be known. At the moment it was useful as she arrived jumping over an agent wounded against the wall, “Don’t fuck with a girl when she’s doing her make up.” She said to herself cracking a smile sliding into her dorm.

Taking a moment she scanned the room, it seemed they had already been here. The bed was flipped and closet open, other things scattered across the floor. Looking for someone to kill. The ever thought disgusted Bridget as she went to her sister’s draw. Opening it up her hand closed around the very thing that had started a horrible fight between the two. Shaking her head she clipped it onto her belt it shined clear as day even in the dark. Even wearing the thing made Bridget sick to her stomach, stupid ass prefects and their ridiculous badges. No time to waste on that now, it was time to find the Queen of the Prefects herself.

Along the way as she spotted her fellow battle front members or other prefects she grabbed their arms saying along the same line each time. ‘We have to stop this, come with me now.’ Her voice left no room for argument whether it was a prefect or a battle front. Needless to say she had her own standing army by the time she got to the center of the problem. “Get your asses in gear! Keep calm and attack together, we’re stronger that way. When I tell you to go, you follow me. Understood?” She said looking at each one of them, fear was evident everywhere but they stood strong and began their own attack.

Bridget’s own eyes turned to spot a tall brunette giving her own orders. Now or never. Darting over to Meredith she was stopped briefly. “Always with the guns,” She said knowing this would distract the agent. “Seriously, my dad has better weapons. Might wanna ask for an upgrade,” she spoke while going straight to disarm. In mere seconds she had the gun and turned it on him, for a second she thought better but pulled the trigger. Clear shot straight through the chest, “Least I learned something from Dad.” She said clearly holding the gun, making sure to use it as she made her way over to Meredith.

“Mer!” She called coming up next to her. “It’s Calista, she’s doing this. She wants to end the island, she thinks that’s the only way to save everyone.” Bridget wasted no time as she jumped right in even though this was the first time the two talked since Bridget came into her own ranking. “I know where she is and Hayden is stalling her right now. I’M THE NEW CANCER.

As the previously nicknamed “princess” of the prefects made her way throughout the scattering masses towards the frontlines of war to take her place as Queen, thoughts consumed her thoroughly.

Since his ascension to the seat of the commander, Seth Rosa had always been a cautious leader. Meredith was all too familiar with waking up in the dark from a night terror, only to find that her love had quietly crept out of their bed to accompany an on-duty prefect on his or her rounds. He always felt it his inalienable duty to ensure that his troops were not fooling around and that the school was being kept safe. Prefects who were found to be incompetent during those late-night informal assessments were fired without hesitation on the spot. Seth’s cautiousness also meant that in his reign as commander, he had found no one he trusted and respected enough, other than Meredith, to join the Alpha Team. With his disappearance, Meredith was then left as both the leader and the sole member of the school’s highest elite squad. Though Seth’s meticulously careful nature had always been something Meredith found endearing, she cursed it in that moment as she realized that she would be fighting a war without a personal team of her own, without a single person in whose hands she could trustingly place her life. No friend to dull the anguish of her first-ever kill. She was completely surrounded by her allies yet quite alone.

On the other hand, Meredith was disturbed to find that moving on from the act of revealing the government agent’s true heartlessness did not take too much effort. She silently wondered how Seth had felt about the lives he had inevitably taken as prefect commander as well as what her lack of angst said about herself. However, there was little time for these questions as more government agents were landing every minute. Upon reaching a better vantage point, the commander scanned the scene left and right, quickly assessing the situation—the prefects’ healers seemed to be on top of their game, as all of the uniformed prefects were on their feet, none seeming too injured, but with the rate at which enemies were falling from the sky, it was clear that the advantage of numbers would soon be on the opposing side unless a more ruthless stance was taken.

“All teams, switch to offense. We’re not holding them back anymore; we’re taking them down,” Meredith shouted. The war cry sounded strange in the naturally warm voice of the almost-mother. Meredith gritted her teeth for a second before calling out her next half-facetious order. “Permission to kill freely.” The stark contrast between the eerie words and the maternal voice of the prefect commander rang as clearly as ever.

Barking orders turned out to be an excellent way to garner attention. Several agents who had been focusing on other targets turned their attention to the brunette and pointed their guns from afar. Noticing this, Meredith swept her hand from left to right, honing in on all armored enemies in her range of sight and inducing rapid-fire cell division on the bones of their craniums, gorily crushing their brains from the outside with their own skulls. The officers dropped to the grass and rolled down the hill, misshapen heads and all. To her detached surprise, the kills felt triumphant and sweet. Those government agents had brought the gifted to Ashford, that hell where tragedy had wreaked havoc on so many lives. They were responsible for Reese’s death. For Calista’s suffering. For Seth’s disappearance. They were responsible for everything. They deserved to die.

“Mer!” The familiar voice, the voice of a friend, abruptly jerked the commander out of her murderous rampage. Meredith looked to her side and walked to Bridget without a second thought.

“Calista,” Meredith breathed with concern, her stone-cold façade of commandership dissolving in an instant to reveal the scared and loving girl who only wanted to protect her loved ones. The sound of her “sister’s” name alone was enough to call forth whatever was left of the old Meredith. Calista was the closest Meredith had to family, and with Seth gone, she was all Meredith had. The brunette nodded rapidly and took Bridget’s hand without hesitation before realizing that she was sort of in charge. “Hold on.” Not having much time to play favorites, the commander approached the two nearest prefects who didn’t seem like complete imbeciles, the pair being Deven and Kazuma.

“You two. Names.” She waited a second for an answer and then spoke again whether one was given or not. “You’re in charge for now. If this place is still standing with most everyone alive when I’m back, consider yourselves promoted.” Having no way of knowing whether she had chosen heroes or dopes to head her troops, Meredith decided she would have to leave her soldiers with more of an advantage.

Taking a step back, the commander focused on all the uniformed prefects while crossing her straightened arms in front of her. With a deep breath, she swept both arms outwards, sending out a wave of power augmentation that could be physically felt, like a sudden surge of raw energy and power, by every prefect. "Now that you're all on steroids, I can expect you to make sure every last agent goes to Hell," she said to the chosen two.


With her final orders and act of offense complete, she ran back to Bridget and took her friend’s hand again. The massive distribution of enhanced power clearly left the young woman drained, her face appearing even more pale than usual, her voice growing faint, but she prepared herself to trek on regardless. “Let’s go.”

Straight madness had erupted throughout the school. The amount of confusion and terror would have been baffling even to the most trained man. Grown humans slaughtering students, not even old enough to vote, enjoy their first drink, or smoke were fodder for the bullets that chipped the marbled floors all around Kazuma.

His vision centered on what was in front of him, not paying attention to anything around him other then his current actions. He pinched the end of the scroll he had removed from its safety sleeve and swept his arm out unfurling it while dragging the fingers of his other hand across the ink that lay artfully across the page. The Ink seemed to formulate at the end of his fingers as if collecting, being taken straight off the page. As he ran forward he spun in a quick circle with a look of concentration on his face then slapping his hand on the ground flat palmed then raising it up swiftly. As his hand came up the ink began to coalesce and stretch across the hallway, becoming black walls large enough to cover 2 adults from one side of the room to the other with small gaps in between, room for one large human.

At that moment he heard a muffled cry behind him of warning. He spun around ready for a round house kick into the enemy that he sensed, but as he whipped about he saw the owner of the voice dodge a shot and then continue to press forward and snap the soldier neck with ease. As the man rose from the position, Kazuma saw the tears come down the seemingly distraught teens face and blubbering words come out that he couldn't fully comprehend. The look of fear on the boys face was obvious, but the way he moved spoke a thousand words....he'd have to keep his eyes on this one.

"Thanks, I'm sure i would have taken at least a scratch from that one" he said chucking a bit as a bullet whizzed past his ear, a hair length from striking its target. "Yow!" he exclaimed scooting down and pressing his back against the walls he created waving kids through from the other side as multitudes of them rushed in taking cover themselves.


Just as Kazuma opened his mouth to speak he heard a commanding voice bark orders with smooth confidence. "Meridith..." he said cursing to himself. She strode up to them after she dispatched the last of the enemy on their side of his walls of ink that withstood damage as any metal could. Her introduction was more pleasureful then he had originally thought it would be as she briskly walked over to him and the other Prefect who seemed to have saved his skin just moments before demanding names and somewhat promising promotions. He had begun to formulate a rebuttal at the offer of promotion and decided to keep his mouth shut instead. "Kazuma Kaido" he said flatly over the torrents of gunfire that passed over head. "Your word is our command" he said respectfully bowing his head slightly.

She seemed to be taking her leave from them at this point leaving the battle up to him, the newcomer and anyone who was willful enough to fight for their lives. He closed his eyes for a moment then looked up as Meridith released one of her powers upon the fighters, including himself and he was interested in what the effect was until he felt it.

His eyes dilated with energy, his muscles twitched and he could almost feel the blood that rushed through his veins. His body just felt so....light, and ready, God was he ready. He took a quick few breathes looking up to the roof and said a quick prayer to anyone who was listening that who was left would make it out of this hell alive.

Breathe in, breathe out. If you looked at Kazuma from one side he would seem calm, cool and collected. But on the other, he was breaking down. Anyone in his position would, he thought to himself quickly trying to calm himself down. He had to think fast, assessing the situation they were in. There were still students on the other side and who knew how many. Plus there were the ones that were located on the lower floors and outside. He had to find a way to get to them.

Go, time. He began yelling over the roar of muzzles to the students around him trying to reach their ears, "We need to reach the stranded students as fast as we can! The more bodies we have that are still moving the more chance of success we have. Lets push out position up then make a new plan from there. Target is the stairway to the first floor. Ranged stay behind the walls, make the first attack and then melee pushes forward. got it?" he said with authority as though he knew what he was doing.

His legs were bouncing with adrenaline as the volley of flames, ice and other projectiles were launched overhead. As soon as he heard them make impact he vaulted over the wall he had crouched behind leading the assault.

He withdrew a scroll and undid the strap on it forcing his hand on the parchment withdrawing a large spear from the page and hurling it forward puncturing the chest of a man who was about to dispatch a injured student. Landing hard and rolling to a somewhat stumbled run he yanked two more rolls out and popped the seals then rolled them out in front of him. As he ran he ducked low dragging the tips of his fingers on the markings as he bolted past running students and fallen bodies of friend and foe alike.

Growls were being heard from all around as Hell hounds jumped through the paper bursting into the fray with gnarled faces and razor sharp teeth. Following Kazuma's lead they charged forward pouncing upon the frightened members of the governments "elite" squad. Doing his best to stay on his feet from all the incoming blows he came to an impasse as he skidded to a halt surrounded by men.

All his dogs were currently already preoccupied with battle and could offer no aide as he was being backed into a window. Volleys of blows were being launched at him, he deflected what he could blocking strikes to his vitals but a few jabs and crosses came through striking his chin and stomach causing him to wheel back. He felt a pain in his gut but nothing he couldn't handle at the time.

Taking a look behind him he dove through the window, shards of glass littering his face and a few embedding their way into his flesh, pulling out yet another pad and quickly summoning a large eagle that he landed on top of. He instructed to the bird to fly right back through the window that was near the front-lines of the fighting that he had far beyond passed trying to insert his Hell hounds inside their ranks.

Glancing down he saw a young man standing out on the grounds alone it seemed. He yelled at the guy in as few words as he could fit in the small time frame, "Hey! Second floor, safety or fighting. Your choice! Right now we need to concentrate on staying alive, screw this Prefect Battle Front squabble!" as he ended he dove off the eagle, giving it instructions to go back for the boy out front, pushing off it just as it begun to rise as he once again burst through glass and frame, this time covering his eyes and face rolling a few times then coming to his feet beside his comrades wincing at the feeling in his abdomen again. "Now....let get this shit started" he seethed directing battle. This would either gain him some loyalty for the future, or his leadership would be very short lived. All he could do right now is leave it up to the courage of those around him.

Nodding his agreement to the man's statement Deven wipes the last of the tears from his eyes. When his fellow Prefect gave a light heart chuckle the teen took a cautious deep breath to make it appear as if he was settling his nerves. Followed by mimicking a soft smile to go along with the sudden lighten mood. However when a bullet nearly took of his newly found partner's ear Deven quickly switched his act to concern. "Are you okay!?" Rushing the words out of his mouth to give the allusion of shock as he followed Kazuma's lead and hid behind the wall.

Kazuma was about to start barking orders, and Deven (who had decided to let Kazuma take the lead to keep up his guise) was waiting for the instructions to come. He just so happened to have his back to the approaching Prefect Queen, and so when he heard her motherly yet commanding voice fill the air a look of confusion registered on his face. He had already correctly assumed who it was but Kazuma clarified his suspicions whenever he voiced her named.

Looking over his shoulder Deven's red eyes examined the damaged done by Meredith and her group. Once he saw that all the enemies had been eliminated by the woman he dropped his normal student act and simply stared up, since he was crouching and balancing on the balls of his feet, at the girl with an indifferent expression.

Devn Rainsworth wasn't has humble and polite as his co-worker. So when Meredith Monroe began demanding names and the promise of a promotion Deven simply looked away. Pretending to choose to ignore her than commit himself to share information with the Queen. He even went as far to fringe disgust when the other man ever so slightly bowed to their commander. Acting as if he didn't want to stay any longer. Deven hoped over the wall and began to take a step away when he felt drastic boost in power. The effects so potent he could even feel his finely tone muscle rippling with energy and he wasn't the only one.

After Kazuma Kaido gave share their newly found battle plan a surge of amp range attacks assaulted the forces in front of them. The force of the combined attacks was enough to make Deven's hair and clothes wildly dance as if a powerful gust of wind had flowed through the hallway. Once the enemy screams had settled down Deven stood perfectly still for a second. Waiting for him to make his move, and when Kazuma bolted past Deven quickly followed his lead.

After Kazuma threw his spear and stumble into a roll Deven stopped in his tracks briefly to see if he was unharmed. An arched eyebrow signaled the the impressed look on the teen's perfected face when a pack of hell hounds sprung from the papers and began attacks on the Government soldiers. He gave an approving whistle at the sight. Seemly entranced until the sound of shattered glass caught his attention. Turning his head Deven pretended to helplessly watch as Kazuma fell to the ground.

That was when the agents turned their attention on the nearest student. Deven, and that was they're biggest mistake. Using his Omnidirectional Vision to cover his blind spots before he was quickly surrounded by soldiers, and now able to see where everyone in a field of 360 degrees field of vision Deven Ransworth began his counter attack. Using the years worth of training spent fighting this solider he quickly begins disarming and striking the Government's troops in their weak points. screams of pain, muffled thuds and loud crunching sounds filled the air. In the short time frame that kazuma was gone Deven had broken seven arms, four legs, twelve ribs and had snapped all five necks.

As kazuma came crashing back in Deven had dropped the last body in the next second with a loud and hollow THUD that haunted the hallway as both the students and the solider alike stared at Deven with a mixture of shock and freight. "Welcome back." He said as if he hadn't just brutally murdered a squad with his bare hands. Turning his back to the left over enemies behind him he was about to ask their leader something when in the field of his vision he saw the agents getting ready to pull their triggers.

Using his psychic signature and the X-ray aspect of his Omnidirectional Vision Deven quickly jammed all their guns so only loud clicking was heard. "Your choice." He said nonchalantly as he walked back into the ranks of the group of students. Letting Kazuma have the pleasure of deciding what to do with these weaponless soldiers.
