“Well, are you going to let me out of these now, or what?”
The statement that slipped through her lips was clipped and rude, which visibly irritated the man shoving her into the courtyard. She saw him reach down and heard a ‘click’, indicating that she was finally free from her bindings. She turned around to send a smirk in his direction, noting the damage she had done to his lower lip. Nice job, she thought, preventing herself from nodding. Of course, she was used to the backlash of punching someone in the face. She snorted to herself, shaking her head this time. That bully deserved it, she thought with a scowl. A snapping noise broke her out of her trip down memory lane and her sapphire eyes shifted up to look the sharp-dressed worker in the eyes.
“I suggest you show the people here more respect than you showed me… Otherwise, you’ll be sorry…”
She sneered silently at the agent as he walked away after giving her a warning. She mumbled curses under her breath, looking at her pale wrists, which were now black and blue thanks to the handcuffs that had been on her a moment ago. She twisted her wrists a little, trying to see if they still moved. Thankfully, they turned the way they were supposed to and she could see the barely visible tendons move beneath her flexing digits. She huffed as she turned around to head toward the set of towering, brick buildings that had been behind her. This seems more like a prison than a school, she thought to herself, the scowl from earlier still tugging at the corner of her lips. All of the buildings looked the same and, if it were not for the signs posted for the new students’ conveniences, she would have surely wandered into the boys’ dorms. She rolled her sapphire eyes, her right hand grasping onto the backpack strap on her shoulder as she started to walk in the direction of the girls’ dorms. However, on her way there, she walked right into someone and fell backwards onto the pavement of the courtyard.
“Hey, watch where you’re going, asshole!”
Her scowl seemed to deepen and she placed both of her hands on her hips. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at the person who had walked into her. One thing was for sure, she was not about to be pushed around anymore. She had been pushed around her entire life and she was done with it. She was going to live the way she wanted and if someone hated her for it, then that was fine, because she could hate them right back. I refuse to be a plaything, something to be tossed aside when a new model comes out, she thought indignantly, trying to prevent her inner seething from slipping out into the open. She refused to display her inner emotions for everyone else to see; the last time she had done so, she was taken advantage of. She shook her head, keeping her arms crossed at she continued glowering.
"Who are you anyway?"
